The final steps of Jesus (Part 2) Walk like Jesus Walked

With God, I shall overcome. My day will come and I will praise Him and be thankful to all those who helped me along the way.

This is the 234th letter:

Text for the day: Luke 22:11 (King James Version)

And ye shall say unto the Goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the Passover with my disciples?

April is a special month to many around the world. It is our aim at Garden Ministry with your help to see that everyone on your email contact list if they will, receive these devotions in that month. The theme for the month will be, “Go light your world”. We can make it happen, by lighting your world.

Our Devotional

I had a call the other day from someone asking, “Elder, with all these things happening around us, when are you going to write about the signs of the times?” My words to that person were simple, “When God tells me to do so!” That’s it. It is God that gives me a word for His people from Monday to Friday, and I must not go before Him.

Jesus had ended His discourse with His disciples about end time events in the world and church before His second coming. As Chapter 26 of Matthew opens, we find Jesus talking to His disciples about the first feast of the calendar year, (Matthew 26:1-2) In those days, as it is in our day in same Jewish circles around the world, there are seven times in the year that they come together to thank and worship Him. The names of these feasts days are called, “The Passover Feast, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, The Feast of First Fruits, The Day of Pentecost, or Feast of Weeks, The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, The Feast of Tabernacles”.

Please note, four of these feasts were held in the spring, and the other three in the autumn. These seven yearly times of celebration were part of the “Ceremonial Law” and were tied to the seasons and the harvests. They fell on specified days of the month, but not on specified days of the week. Like our birthday, they might fall on any day of the week, as years followed year, and sometimes, inevitably, they coincided with a special holiday. Because of God’s command “Ye shall not do work therein; these ceremonial rest –days were also called ‘Sabbaths,” and because special sacrifices were offered on these days, they were “shadows of things to come,” i.e. they pointed forward to Christ’s great redemptive sacrifice on Calvary. When a Feast day coincided or fell on a day of weekly worship, it was called a, “High Sabbath”.

In total there where seven “shadowy” days of worship called the Sabbath, they were not a part of the Sabbath of Creation, for it was distinct in origin, in purpose, and duration, (Leviticus 23). It was with this knowledge that Jesus called the disciples to make ready to eat the Passover, (Matthew 26:17). As the disciples went into the city by divine direction, they found the place to hold their event, (Mark 14:13-17). The Bible doesn’t give the name of the man who opened up his guest room to Jesus and his disciples. The only name that Mark, and Luke called him is, “The Good Man” (Mark 14:14, Luke 22:11).

To get a better understanding o this good man, let us look at ourselves. Sometimes when we are going through a heard time and someone helps you, “that’s Good Man.” When there is more bills than money, and you find out later that someone paid your bills, “That’s a Good Man. My wife and I want on a holiday, many years ago to Boston. While there, we had a friend who was in one of the hospitals for a health need. On our way to the hospital one day we had lost our way, so I asked a man for some help. When he finish giving me directions, another man walk up to us and said go another way. We had never seen this tall man before, but we followed his direction and ended up at the front of the hospital. Many years have passed and we still talk about that good man. We learned a valuable lesson that day, “If a good man comes your way, it’s always to help, and never to hurt or pull you down.

When you look deeper into the life of the good man in Jesus day, you find that he loved GOD, honesty, Integrity, openness, ambition, and had good communication. He was a real man, who took care of his family, and neighbors. He showed love to everyone around him. May we be filled with the blessings of the, “Good Man” today.
