Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

Come Home it’s Supper Time

'God's plan' are always prepared plans; often they are a front for men's plans, and a cover for inadequacy, ignorance, and evil. But they will not stand for you in the judgment, you must stand alone.

This is the 236th letter:

Text for the day: 1 Corinthians 11:26 (King James Version)

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

April is a special month to many around the world. It is our aim at Garden Ministry with your help to see that everyone on your email contact list if they will, receive these devotions in that month. The theme for the month will be, “Go light your world”. We can make it happen, by lighting your world.

Our Devotional

What does the word protected mean to you? You may be saying to keep safe, defend, guard, or to provide somebody/something with insurance against fire, injury, damage, etc. Most people say, the most important thing about having any form of protection in these days, is knowing as the client that you have a sure protector.

With this in mind, a little boy who was the eldest child in his family had a dream one night. As he slept, he dreamt that he lived in Egypt during the time of the tenth plague, (Exodus 11: 1 / Exodus 12:28-30). In his dream he asked his daddy to be sure the blood was on the doorpost and lintel outside the door. His father assured him that the blood was there. But when he opened the door and looked, there was no blood. This frightened him and he awoke. The dream made such an impression on him, that he gave his heart to Jesus and was baptized.

Each of us needs protection, but the greatest protection we can ever have is our soul protected. The bible pictures a day that is coming that those with out the protection of the blood of Jesus will receive the wrath of God, which will be poured out without mercy, (Revelation 15:1-8 and Revelation 16:1-21). Today, whether you are the eldest or not in your family, whether you are a son or daughter, it doesn’t matter we all need God’s protection. Through the century’s mankind have tried many forms of spiritual protection, but the only sure protection is the blood of Jesus Christ, (Hebrews 9:22). In ancient times, God had directed the people that every dying lamb represented Christ our atonement from sin.

In the words of a great teacher, “The next time the communion service seems only like a ritual to you, try to imagine what life would be like if Jesus had not been slain.” As Jesus instituted the communion service as part of the new covenant, His example forbids exclusiveness. God has not left it with men to say who shall partake of the communion service or not, but let every man examine themselves, for who can read the heart, (1 Corinthians 11:27- 34). As the disciples left that communion service that night, they all sensed a renewal of commitment and a cleansing of heart besides one.

There is a lesson here that need not be over looked. Judas who looked like a faithful disciple, who had sold Jesus for money, (Matthew 26:14-16) represents a class of people who would physically partake of the communion service, but their hearts are with the devil (Luke 22:2-6). These are they, who long to have their feet washed, but their minds are still soiled with the sin of this world. These are they, who slip out late nights like Judas to do the devil’s work. As they come to the communion service, they come without Jesus in their hearts, and leave without Him also. One day the redeemed of the earth shall sit down with Jesus when all is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. What a day of feasting, that will be! (Luke 22:16/ Revelation 19:7-9) Today God is giving an invitation to all to come, because it’s supper time. Will you come? (Luke 14:15-24)
