Study War No More!

“The Knowledge of God's Word is a bulwark against

deception, temptation, accusation, even persecution.”

Edwin Louis Cole

This is the 246th letter:

Text for the day: Revelation 13:14

[He] deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast.”

It has been our aim at Garden Ministry, with the help of you, that the world receives these devotionals. We have gone into new areas, but let us see what we can do over these next few days. The theme for the month is, “Go light your world”. We can make it happen, by illuminating our circle.

Our Devotional

The Pacific War was the largest naval conflict in history. Across the huge expanses of the Pacific Ocean, the two most powerful navies in the world found themselves locked in a death struggle. The war was fought in every possible climate, from Arctic conditions in the Aleutians, to the appalling heat and swelter of the South Pacific. It is said that every conceivable type of naval activity was represented: aircraft carriers and submarines with there nuclear reactors. This war was called by the world, “Hell in the Pacific.” The timeline and days of the war range from 1941 to 1945, known as World War II.

No one could ever forget the main events from the start to the finish of this war. From December 7, 1941 - Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; also attacked the Philippines, Wake Island, Guam, Malaya, Thailand, Shanghai and Midway.
December 8, 1941 - U.S. and Britain declare war on Japan. Japanese land near Singapore and enter Thailand. December 9, 1941 - China declares war on Japan. By September 4, 1945 – the Japanese troops on Wake Island surrender. September 5, 1945 - British land in Singapore. September 8, 1945 - General Douglas MacArthur enters Tokyo. September 9, 1945 - Japanese in Korea surrender. September 13, 1945 - Japanese in Burma surrender. Finally on October 24, 1945 – the United Nations was established to keep peace.

The Bible reveals another conflict that has been waging for hundreds of years, better known as the “Great Controversy.” When John the Apostle was shown the battle of all battles which began in Heaven, and will finally end on earth, (Revelation 12:7-10).

He was moved especially by the last great struggles of the church with satanic and earthly powers combine. As the vision unfolded before him, he was also permitted to behold the final victory and deliverance of the faithful. Looking beyond the smoke and din of the battle, he beheld a company upon Mount Zion with the Lamb, having, instead of the mark of the beast, the "Father's name written in their foreheads." (Revelation 7:9-17)

When those battle days came to an end in the Pacific Ocean in 1945, the world saw two types of soldiers, those with the mark of defeat, and those with the seal of victory. John, as he looked forward to the future, saw two distinct people also. Those who had gotten the victory over the beast, his image, and Satan, and those who had allow their minds to be drawn away from God to Satan and safe. He saw those in the Holy City and those outside, (Revelation 20:7-15). Those with robes of glory, starry crown, golden shoes; talking with the Prince of Peace, and shaking hands.

One day Jesus will come, and those who have been afflicted and tried by Satan will experience war no more. On that day when the sons of God shall meet and the United Nations of the Universe convene; everlasting peace shall be forever more, (Revelation 22:3 / Nahum 1:9). As John the Apostle close’s his message of comfort and assurance to the church of his day and our day, let us says with him “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)

Standing in the Safety Zone

“History is important; it will help you in the present and

guide you in the future. Let us not live in the past, but

learn and build on it, for eternity.”

This is the 245th letter:

Text for the day: Daniel 7:25, R.V.

He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.

Our Devotional

During the early dispensation of the Christian church, Satan had made the happiness of those who chose to follow Jesus very difficult. It was his plan to obliterate every one who reflected the goodness of God. But there where those, despite the many attacks of the enemy remained faithful to God. Form 538 B.C. to 1798 B.C. or 1260 years, the church would be forced to ride through hard times, but the earth helped her (Revelation 12:6).

These days in world history was known as the Dark Ages. The special attack put forth by Satan were great, because mankind had come to a time that they would rather serve God and be faithful to his entire commandments, then to compromise the truth. As it was in those days, Satan’s plans and purposes have not changed. He still works in cross purposes with God. Today, Satan is working in every way to defuse the will of God in the minds of His people. His master plan is to try to obliterate the memory of God’s children from worshiping the true and living God.

Today as we go about our daily activities, the enemy of our soul is making plans and saying to those who are following him, “The world will one day be mine". As he made claims in the past, by saying that he will be the ruler of the earth and the prince of the world, he is making the same claims today (Isaiah 14:13-14). In listening to the news this morning, it was said by one of the leading company’s of food distribution that “stormy days are ahead of us all”. In other words, human laws will be made so stringent that men and women will not dare to observe and rever God. Things will get so bad that if you worship Him as out-lined in the Bible, you will be forced by law not to worship Him (Daniel 6:7-10).

Many people for fear of wanting food, water, clothing, and money, will turn from worshiping God, to joining the world in transgressing His precepts. But "Gods children’s water and food will be sure,” (Isaiah 33:16). Soon the greatest test this world will ever know shall be brought to bear upon all. On that day the line will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. Soon many leaders of the Christian faith will unite with the world in support of immoral behavior, and the worship that is not approved by God. Let us not be blinded by these things. The signs and wonders by Satan will cause many to believe that their customs and traditional ways of serving God is the right way, (Proverbs 14:12).

The day in which we live, calls for us to seek God in everything. Remember, Satan is working to separate as many as he possibly can from Christ, by worldliness, lust, and pride (Psalm 94:20-21). I read something years ago which I leave with you, “While men think themselves safe because they believe the truth, they need to watch less indulgence of appetite or their lower passions, confuse their judgment, and destroy discrimination, which will cause their fall" What a mouth full! Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and stand in the safety zone.
