You to can live Perfect (Part 1)

Righteousness does not consist in having an excess of good deeds over evil deeds credited to one’s account in heaven, but the imputing and excepting of the merits of Christ by you.

This is the 210th letter:

Text for the day: Matthew 5:48 (King James Version)

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Our Theme for the day: (You to can live Perfect)

Our Devotional

As I woke up this morning, these words where ringing in my ears. “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48) Let me say, “What I’ve written is not what I was working on for over three hours last night. As I went to my bed last night, God’s last words to me was, “Kevin, there is a Spiritual awakening among my people world wide, and they must be fed.” Tell them, “Blessed are you who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for you will be filled. (Matthew 5:8)

After Jesus speaks to the multitude about loving your enemies, He went on to remind them that it is the will of your father in heaven that you reflect His character, which is love to all men. (1 John 4:8) If we truly love God then we would love our brother, who ever they may be. (1 John 4:20)

Today there is someone that is burning up with hatred in their heart to somebody that did them wrong, but God’s word to you is love them. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48). Notice Jesus never said to look perfect, but be ye perfect! With these words, Christ introduces the conclusion of His six illustrations of the higher spiritual application of the law of the kingdom of heaven which He had come to establish. You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Amplified Bible)

While many people are concerning themselves with the outer man, it is the inner attitudes and motives that determine perfection of character, and not the outward acts alone. Man may look good and act well on the out side, but God looks on the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)

Paul in speaking about perfection realized that there were new heights to gain, that he himself had not reached in his ultimate perfection. (1 Corinthian 2:6/ Philippians 3:15) Jesus, years earlier enforced the same point to the multitude on the Mount but it seems as if they had forgotten His message. Jesus tried to help the people see that real perfection does not deal with absolute sinlessness in this life, but a process which is called sanctification.
This is a progressive work, not an immediate work as some were teaching in His day, and are still presently teaching. The Jews in the days of Jesus were toiling wearily to become righteous by their own efforts, to earn salvation by works. But in their scrupulous legalism they paid so much attention to the minute details of the letter of the law that they lost sight completely of its spirit. (Matthew 23:23) In the Sermon on the Mount Christ sought to turn the people’s attention from the husks to the wheat, from the outer man to the heart. Remember in order for our character building to be pleasing to God, we must constantly advance in our spirituality making constant improvement, until at last we are pronounced worthy to receive immortal life.

Community / International Prayer
Bermuda
Ø Would you remember my brother-in-law, Kuhn (Tootsie Roll) Evans in your prayer? That he may be able to go back to work soon from an accident over five months ago.
Ø Prayer is asked for Allen Cann of Bermuda who is sick.
Ø These persons have asked for prayers who are in hospital, May Rawlins, and Sterling Lovell who has blood colts in both legs.
Around the world:
Libya:
Ø Let us pray for the families of over 1,000 people said to have been killed in Libya since the uprising to end Col Gaddafi's 41 years in power began in mid-February. It is estimated that about 212,000 people - most of them migrant workers - have fled the country.

Pennsylvania:
Ø A family has lost there seven children, aged from seven months to 11 years old, in a fire at a farmhouse in the borough of Blain in the US state of Pennsylvania. Police are saying as mother was milking cows in a barn and their father was napping in a delivery vehicle the house caught on fire and there was nothing they could do. Let us keep this family in prayer.

Remember that the true meaning of ASAP: "Always Say a Prayer"
A person who loves the Bible, will also love to pray, and a person who loves to pray will
delight themselves in the Bible.
