Faith or Foolishness (Part 7) “Walk before Me”

It is no time to put of what need be done today.

We must all be diligent to make our calling and

election sure, when we hear His voice.

This is the 223rd letter:

Text for the day: Genesis 17:1 (King James Version)

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

April is a special month to many around the world. It is our aim at Garden Ministry with your help to see that everyone on your email contact list if they will, receive these devotions in that month. The theme for the month will be, “Go light your world”. We can make it happen. Join us in the month of April as we light the world.

Our Devotional

From the days of his youth Abram had longed for a life of perfection, blamelessness, and wholeheartedness. But it was not until God had called him to walk before Him, that he would experience the full joy of perfection. Some have said that Abram’s call took place after he began to be ninety nine years old, that the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: "I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be perfect". In life, timing is very important. For instance, if you are looking for a job, the time you start your Job hunting is important. If you are in college and need to put in your research paper, time is important. It doesn’t matter if you have shown strength during the school year with A’s and B’s, if you fail to do what is asked of you in the specified time, it could mean a failure.

Good timing makes law firm marketing easier. Good timing can mean life or death to thousands of people if the farmers don’t get their seeds in the ground on time. Good timing could mean more money in your bank account or no money at all. To those who invest in the market. The question of "when is the right time?" has always bothered mankind, but you must learn how to trust the investor.

The teacher came in the room very early and said, "to those that do their homework, they will be prepared at all times" . This principle can also be very important in our everyday life, especially in our spiritual walk with the Lord. When God called Abram to walk before Him in perfection, He was calling him to moral perfection in all things. In the days of Abram as it is now, it was customary for people to live in an immoral lifestyle. Leaders of governments, spiritual leaders, and citizens alike, where all enjoying a lifestyle of immorality!

To those who had been given light and opportunities as God's stewards, they did not aim for perfection. Things had become so bad that they had lowered the standard of righteousness to accommodate inherited and cultivated tendencies to do wrong. This is why Christ took upon Himself our human nature, and lived our life, to show us that we may be like Him by partaking of the divine nature, that we may be holy, as Christ was holy in human nature. The day had come, and Abram was called by God to walk perfect before an imperfect world. Whatever we do today, or in whatever area of life we are placed, God desires that we walk perfectly. God will refine us if we will Him to, and enable us to have our minds totally controlled by His Holy Spirit.

Finally, as we feel the delicate touch of the Great Physician, and watch His hand, and feel His power in our life today. Allow His wisdom to make you perfect. As the skill of the carpenter uses the saw, chisel, and hammer, let God make you into a beautiful object of divine grace. As the strength of which the blacksmith makes the anvil ring, walk before God that He may make your life ring with perfection. Jesus said only the pure in heart shall see God. (Matthew 5:8). That means all whose hearts have been made perfect through Christ, will live with Him. This is a day to surrender all to the Lord. Why not surrender all to Jesus now? (2 Peter 1:10)
