Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

Holiness is what I long for! (Part 3) A heart full of Joy

A holy life will make the deepest impression.

Lighthouses blow no horns, they just shine.

By Dwight L. Moody

This is the 214th letter:

Text for the day: 1 Corinthians 13:6

It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.

Our Theme for the day: Holiness is what

I long for! (Part 3) A heart full of Joy

Our Devotional

Out of ever ten people, about four to six are asking the question, what is holiness unto the Lord? Holiness unto the Lord or of heart is right actions that are accepted by God. It is this absence of holiness, which has led the world into unrighteous acts, such as envy, hatred, jealousy, evil surmising, and every hateful and abominable sin. But the fruits of holiness, leads a person to never become weary in well-doing. Secondly neither will a person who has the grace of God’s holiness look for promotion in this world; but will look forward to be promoted by the Majesty of heaven when Jesus comes.

Then shall He say unto them, "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world," enumerating the works of self-denial and mercy, compassion and righteousness, they have wrought.

As we take another look at what our readers are saying about the goodness of God through Garden Ministry, it is our prayer that we all would be made holy.

Bermuda:

Elder Kevin,

Thank you so much for sending me these words of encouragement. May I ask that you continue sending them and would you be so kind to send them to P.?

Thanks in advance.

Pure Memories

The USA:

Dear Kevin

Thanks for continuing with your daily devotional. Are you coming up with all this every day yourself, or do you borrow from other devotionals?

I was especially blessed by the 2 Holiness Articles. I've especially felt a desire for greater Holiness.

Below is a prayer request from a close friend of mine. I've known her since I was 16 yrs old and we raised our children together the 1st 8 -10 years of their lives (when we were living closer to each other) and her children are like nieces & nephews to me.

Thanks so much, Barbara

Blessings to you Barbara and all our faithful readers of Garden Ministry, John Flavel said it best when he said, “What health is to the heart, that holiness is to the soul”. To answer your question about do I write these devotionals or borrow them from other devotionals? The answer is, I write them myself. The Lord wakes me up early in the morning with the message for the day. He really talks to me, and I can hear His voice speaking the text to my mind, and then I must get up.

Sister Barbara, I am not a writer, "God is". I just put my hands on the key-broad and my mind hears the message from Him. May God bless us all as we move at His will. We have prayer partners in different parts of the world who are praying for the request that come into Garden Ministry. There are different times that are set for prayer as the Lord has led these prayer partners. There may be someone in your area that would love to serve as a prayer leader or may be on the team. If there is, contact us at Garden Ministry.

Community / International Prayer

The USA:

Dear Prayer Warriors,

I'm calling on you Sisters/Brothers, to please put my son Reuben on your prayer chain list. He went to treatment at the "Union Gospel Mission" today.

Reuben has struggled with addiction for many years. He started using drugs at age 13, he is now 34. Reuben has been in and out of treatment centers and jail (too many times to count) with no healing results. We all know prayer changes people, places, and things.

I believe Reuben has hit the wall of pain enough times to want the healing now. I believe our Savior wants him healed. He is covered in boils, sick at heart and in spirit. He needs our prayers. Please pray with me. Love to all.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

Around the world:

Libya:

Pray that the heavy fighting which continues in Libya between government and rebel forces will stop as they are still battling for the oil town of Brega.

Japan:

Let us pray for the people in the area of Radiation from Japan's quake-stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant has reached harmful levels.

The warning comes after the plant was rocked by a third blast, which appears to have damaged one of the reactors' containment systems for the first time.

If it is breached, there are fears of more serious radioactive leaks.

Officials have extended the danger zone, warning residents within 30km (18 miles) to evacuate or stay indoors.

Remember that the true meaning of ASAP: "Always Say a Prayer"

A person, who loves the Bible, will also love to pray, and a person who loves to pray will delight themselves in the Bible.
