This is the 73rd letter:
Text for the day: John 4:35
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Our Devotional
Thus far in our series of “Wealthy, Healthy, and Wise” we have seen that the work of the gardener is like the work of the servant leaders in the church. They are both called to work in the sun and the rain. In the good times and the bad a servant leader is called to serve. We have also seen in all areas of gardening, or what ever you do, no pretense should be tolerated.” Men may deceive their fellow men, and may receive praise and compensation for service which they have not rendered. But the day will come when their work is shown; time has a wonderful way of unveiling truth or deception. Like the farmer so it is with the servant leader their harvest depends on their seed time. The sentence of a good or bad harvest will bring condemnation for their poor service, or justification for their faithful service on the day of harvesting. In the work force today we have more workers but less productivity because most people are untrue to their responsibilities. We may flatter ourselves that, so long as the wrong is concealed, we are gaining an advantage. But not so; we are cheating ourselves. Today there is no getting around it but some are cheating themselves. The day is coming and yet the time is now for your harvest to be picked. It’s not that it is harvest time that should bother you but are you prepared for the harvest.
When Jesus returns the second time he will be looking for you and me in that number to take home, will we be there? “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Daniel 12:1) It is also at that same time that God the Father says, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he who is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For with out are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. It is at that time the characters of all would be fix. What matters now is our ripening for the harvest or day when holy angels shall be sent to gather God’s people to him self. (Matthew 13:39)
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. {Matthew 13:40-42} The Bible goes on to say, “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:31) Does the angel know when it is time to pick or gather God’s children home? Matthew 24:36 says, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” The bottom line is this, how you live your life now will “determine your destiny, both for this life and for the life to come.” Harvest day is coming. There are two more points; first the harvest is a reproduction of the seed sown. “Every seed yields fruits after its kind. So it is with the traits of character we cherish. Selfishness, self-love, self-esteem, self-indulgence, reproduce themselves, and the end is wretchedness and ruin. On the other hand Love, sympathy, and kindness yield fruitage of blessing, a harvest that is imperishable.” (RC 341) Secondly, he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. By casting it away the sower multiplies his seed. So by imparting or sharing the word of God we increase our blessings. God's promise assures a sufficiency that we may continue to give. Which leads me to my last question, of which harvest will you be in?
