This is the 77th letter:
Text for the day: Luke 21:9-10
But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
Our Theme for the day: In spite of myself
Our Devotional
Today let the language of your soul be to the people, without Christ you and I can do nothing. This leads us to the first step in a change of heart which is surrender. What is surrender is the big question? True surrender is asking the Lord in Jesus name to take away our stony hearts of selfishness or by giving Him your selfishness that He will give you a new heart of selflessness. Now note all this must work in concert with your willingness to confess and forsake your sins. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 2:1-2) God is longing to save us, but like the many wars we have had over the last hundred years, so many of us are fighting a war with self in our minds. Many will not admit it, but like every nation involved in a war needs a mediator to help bring them to peace. We need a mediator also. The Bible helps us see that, “there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all.” (1Timothy 2:5-6)
Today our prayer should be, Lord save me from my selfish un-Christ-like attitude. I am weak, mould me, fashion me, and raise me into a pure, holy atmosphere, where the rich current of thy love can flow through my soul. The promise to you is, those who consecrate body, soul, and spirit to God will constantly receive a new endowment of physical, mental, and spiritual power. Therefore there needs to be a continual reaching out of the heart after God, a continual, earnest, heart-breaking confession of sin, and humbling of the soul before Him. We need to examine ourselves today my fellow servant leaders, to see whether we are indeed worthy of the name of Christian. We hear Christ's voice, clear and distinct saying follow me. "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” "So shall he be my disciple." Are you a follower of Christ? Then get over self, not everything in life is about you. Think of others, remember Christ thought about you. He ordered His life and bore His cross for you and me, and the honor of His father’s name. Are you doing same?
