Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

“Wounded Soldier Part 1”

We have enemies to conquer that would gain the control of all our powers. Through the Holy Spirit we can over come self, endure hardness, deny self, take up our cross, and follow Jesus. The greatest test that we must all go through is to crucify the flesh, with the affections and lusts. To him that overcome will I grant to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

This is the 266th letter:

Text for the day: Jeremiah 30:22 (King James Version)

And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Our Theme for the day: “Wounded Soldier Part 1”

Our Devotional

In war, there is nothing like seeing a fellow comrade suffering and in need. As they reach out to you, your only desire at that point, is to meet their need that they may not die. Like the wounded soldiers of war, Christians and ex-Christians find themselves in a war also. But their war is not a war against the flesh, but against Satan and his evil angels. One day Nora (which is not her real name) was driving her car home with her daughter. Suddenly, all her lights came on by themselves and the steering wheel locked up.

Travelling at 35 miles per-hour all she could do was pray. Then the car suddenly stopped seven inch’s from a wall. As help came to her add, she decided to drive the car home. After she parked her car, she and her daughter want to a neighbor’s home and cried uncontrollably. A few moments latter, I walked into the house, and the neighbor said to me, “you have arrived at the right time.” As Nora retold her story of the day’s events, she started crying again. As she calmed down, God spoke to her through me and said, “Someone is praying for you and your families’ protection Miss Nora. Because Satan and his evil angels where trying to kill you and your daughter today in your car, but don’t worry you are covered.”

Nora is like many people who have turn from serving Jesus fully, and the world has become their God. After, we had a prayer of thanks with Nora, her daughter, and the neighbour. She started talking same more. Then I felt impress to ask Nora if she had worship with her daughter, she said, “They had prayer every night just about.” At that point God spoke to me and said go home and get Arthur S. Maxwell “The Bible Story” for her to have devotions with her daughter every night.

As I came back and gave her book two of a volume of ten, she cried out loud, “I use to read this book when I was a child; I use to read this book when I was a child”. Nora told us the story of how her father who is a church leader in St. Lucia, use to read the books to her siblings and her when they were young.

This experience this week, reminds me of Jeremiah the Prophet and his longing to help God’s people. When Jeremiah looked at the sins of God’s people in his day and ours, Gods spoke to him and said, “My people have forgotten me; they burn incense to worthless idols, which made them stumble in their ways and in the ancient paths. They made them walk in bypaths and on roads not built up,” Jeremiah 18:15. If the story ended there we would all have to admit that there is no hope for those who live in darkness, but the story does not stop there, God is a God of hope to those that seek him with all their heart, Jeremiah 29:11-14 / Jeremiah 30:10-22.

If you are pressed down and feeling low today, the Bible calls you a wounded Soldier. If you are just about holding on to your faith, and feel like given up, than this devotion is dedicated to you, you are a wounded soldier. There are a number of “Wounded Soldier” near you; this is their day of healing. Why not ask God to lead you to their side? Some have been wounded, and all they need is to have some oil poured on their wounds. Others need their hurts to be bind, and covered with a blanket of Jesus love through you. Yet they all need the bread of the word and the hand of kindness to provide nourishment and support. May we find our place of ministry to those in the highways and byways of life, and don’t let another wounded soldier die.

As we remember every faithful soldier on the front line today. Let us pray that they may be able to capture the enemy’s stronghold on God’s children who are held by his grip.
