This is the 271st letter:
Text for the day: John 8:58 (New King James Version)
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Our Theme for the day: “THE BLUEPRINT” Part 3 (What’s in a Name?)
Names are an important key to what a society values. Anthropologists recognize naming as 'one of the chief methods for imposing order on perception.' ~David S. Slawson
All of us have a name, but how did you get your name, and how does it define you? If you had the opportunity to change your name, would you keep it or rename yourself? What's in a name can be simply answered, “Everything!” To understand the powerful force that shapes life through its circuit is behind a name. In Exodus 20:2 God introduces himself to His people by the great “I AM,” the “I am Yahweh,” a name derived from the verb “the one who causes to be,” “He who is, or will be,” hence “the Eternal one” Exodus 3:14-15 / John 8:58.
The name YHWH is generally translated “LORD” in the King James Version of the Bible. This distinguishes from other words translated “Lord” by the use of small capitals, as here. The Jews considered the title YHWH so sacred that they would not pronounce it even when reading the scriptures, lest they unintentionally profane the name of the Lord, Leviticus 24:16. Instead, they read ‘Adonai’. Consequently the true pronunciation of YHWH, now thought to have been Yahweh, was lost.
A few centuries after Christ, certain Jewish scholars called Masoretes added vowels to the written Hebrew in an endeavor to preserve a knowledge of the spoken language. At that time they added the vowel sounds of Adonai to the consonants YHWH. This made the word read, literally, Yehowah, transliterated into English as “Jehovah.” There have been great differences among scholars in respect to the origin, pronunciation, and meaning of the word YHWH. We can only say as the scholars not knowing what the original vowel sounds of YHWH were, they thus purposed to call attention to the fact that the word should be read Adonai. (Exodus 6:3 / Psalm 83:18 / Isaiah 26:4; etc.)
1. The Jewish word Adonai means God, but YHWH is rendered “Lord”.
2. The name LORD or Jehovah implies the attributes of the self-existence and timeless one.
3. Yahweh is the living God, the source of life, as in contrasted with the gods of the heathen that have no existence apart from the imagination of the worshiper. (1 Kings 18:20-39 / Isaiah 41:23-29 / Isaiah 44:6-20 / Jeremiah 10:10-14 / 1 Corinthians 8:4)
4. There are many other names for God, such as “Yahweh Shammah,” the LORD is there.
5. Yahweh Shalom, “The LORD is my peace” Judges 6:24.
6. Yahweh Sideqenu, “The LORD is my righteousness” Jeremiah 23:6.
7. Yahweh Rop’eka, “The LORD your physician” Exodus 15:26.
8. Elohim, “The Divine Ones etc.
The names of God are important, and so should ours. If you are a child of God, a disciple of Jesus, then you bear His name, Acts 11:26. May everyone you come in contact with today feel the deep reverence and awe of the holy character of the name of God in your life today. May a gentle eagerness to show respect, also influenced them to be faithful to God like you. What is your name?

Ø Good day, it’s good to hear from you! No wonder I haven't seen you. I'm feeling overwhelmed and scared at the same time. My son (Hubert Butterfield) will be going for an operation on his left ventricle which is the chamber of the left side of the heart, which pumps oxygenated blood out through the aorta to all the tissues of the body in which is weak.
Please put him in your prayers.
I enjoy you sending the emails to me. It brightens my day and keeps me going even when I'm feeling sad. For this I thank you!
Love Rene
