Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

Don’t Give Up

“Don't give up. There are too many nay-Sayers out there who will try to discourage you. Don't listen to them. The only one who can make you give up is yourself.”

By Sidney Sheldon

This is the 268th letter:

Text for the day: Revelation 12:11 (New King James Version)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Our Theme for the day: “Wounded Soldier” Part 3 (Don’t Give Up)

Our Devotional

“When Nixon took the President office of the United States in January 1969, the United States had been involved in combat operations in Vietnam for nearly four years. Their military forces totaled 536,040, the bulk of which were ground combat troops. More than 30,000 Americans had lost their lives by then and the cost of the war was $30 billion dollars a year.” By 1969 the United States was fully engaged in the war, months after President Nixon took office.

“The philosophy of President Richard Nixon was that he was determined that Vietnam would not ruin his presidency, as had been the case with Lyndon Johnson. His plan was to "de-Americanize" the war, an approach that became known as Vietnamization. It involved building up the South Vietnamese armed forces so that they could assume greater combat responsibility while simultaneously withdrawing U.S. combat troops. Is this not the same philosophy that is presently being employed by the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan? The U.S. military role would shift from fighting the DRV (Democratic Republic of Vietnam) and VC (Viet Cong) to advising the South Vietnamese and sending in a massive influx of military equipment and weaponry.

Perhaps most important, Nixon changed the political objective of U.S. intervention from guaranteeing a free and independent South Vietnam to creating the opportunity for South Vietnam to determine its own political future. Vietnamization along with negotiation was Nixon's twin pillars for achieving an honorable peace. By January 1972 the United States had conceded on almost every major point, at least implicitly, that any cease-fire would be a cease-fire in place, which meant that North Vietnamese troops positioned in the South would stay there.”

“The Vietnam War was a sad and unnecessary time in the history of a number of countries including South Vietnam, the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Philippines, Thailand, France, and Laos. It was a war that was fought against the rising tide of communism that was spreading throughout Asian countries. The communist philosophy was seen as a major threat to global stability. The War began on November 1st, 1955, and ended in April 30th 1975.” From Nixon's Book "peace with honor" - The Vietnam War and Its Impact.

For nearly six thousand years the human family has been in a war. “They have been suffering under the attacks of the enemy because of their transgression of the laws of God. Like the Vietnam War, Satan is constantly urging mankind to accept his principles and surrender to him and give up the war.

In other words he is seeking to counterwork the work of God. He is constantly representing the chosen people of God as a deluded people. But remember the words of Jesus to John on the Isle of Patmos, “Satan will not give up, he is an accuser of the brethren, and by his accusing power, have mercy Jesus, he is constantly working against those who work righteousness (Rev 12:10). The Lord desires through His people to answer Satan's charges by showing the result of obedience to right principles.”

Soon the war will be over in the hearts of everyone on planet earth. On that day, it will be clearly seen that there are two camps, the righteous and the wicket. Months before the Vietnam War came to an end, decisions where agreed by all who where fighting for the allies that a plan to bring the war to a close be embarked upon. In like manner, before the Spiritual warfare on earth is ended, God will make an announcement to his son, the Holy Spirit, and all the angels, that all is done. In other words God is saying, “Let us make ready make ready to bring the faithful saints home.

Although many saints around the world have been wounded, from the beginning of the war until now, none of them have been lost. To you, who are still fighting the cause of God today, don’t give up. Remember, most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. By Dale Carnegie

If you have been wounded by sin and have left the battle field, Let God bring healing to you, that you may be re-deployed back into His army to fight the good fight of faith. Fellow soldiers Jesus is coming soon. Let us move only at His command, that when He comes He will find us faithful. Soon the Father will call to the Son and say "it is done, it is finished", now the feet of the saints are kept. Revelation 22:10-15 / 1 Samuel 2:9.
