“Are you tempted? Look unto Jesus. Are you afflicted? Look unto
Jesus. Do all speak evil of you? Look unto Jesus. Do you feel cold,
dull, backsliding? Look unto Jesus. Whether you are weak or
strong, in the valley or on the mountain, in sickness or in health,
in sorrow or in joy, in going out or in coming in, in youth or in age,in richness or
in poverty, in life or in death—let this be your motto
and your guide, “LOOKING UNTO JESUS!”

This is the 250th letter:
Text for the day: Hebrews 12:2
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Our Devotional
Over the last few days many of our readers have been inquiring about the Garden Ministry. We are sorry but with two family members murdered and my daughter and I involved in a car accident, God told me to rest in His love for a few days. The accident was no fault of ours, we where hit from behind and suffered whip lash; but we are coming along, keep us in your prayers.
Over this past week, God has shown me that we as humans put too much confidence in spiritual leaders, and very little faith in Jesus and His word. Don’t get me wrong, God expects for all to seek counsel from His chosen vessels on earth, but honor and glory should only go to Him. Keeping in mind that spiritual leaders are appointed by God to serve and not to be served. God has called them to direct the people to hang the weight of their perplexities and burdens upon Him. Christ has invited us to come to him, because He is our burden-bearer, (Matthew 11:28-30).
What is your concern today? Are you trying to see the light in the distance, look unto Jesus! Have you been given bad news about your job, or investment, look unto Jesus! The average person sees nothing but darkness and no hope for the future. One of the signs of the last days is a spirit of unbelief and a lack of consecration to God. This has led to a spirit of dependence on spiritual leaders and not on Christ. This is a side bar by the devil to make most leaders feel that they have all the answers to life’s problems and not Christ. Let us teach the people to hang the weight and cares of their heart upon Jesus that you may give more time to the message God has called you to share in your circle.
The unbelieving, discouraged and the poor, we will have with us until Jesus comes, but we are called to talk faith and stay focused, in this time of spiritual darkness. Like the farmer who sows his seed in its season, God’s servants are called to sow the seeds of truth beside all waters, and encourage all in their journey. Daily prayer is important in the life of those who are presenting the solemn message of warning to the world for their continued contact with the sources of their strength.
Finally, another sign of the last days is burnout, or working ones self to the max. God never called the spiritual leader to do all the work, and the masses must not expect the spiritual leaders to do all the work. God has given gifts to His church, and all must find their calling without walking on each other, or wearing themselves down with other men’s work and preventing others from doing their duty.
This is a time for more teachers to teach the men how to work with each other in the church of the living God, and community. In the face of the nearness of Christ's kingdom, some have lost the force, and become careless and inattentive, in helping others be prepared for Jesus.
The Apostle Paul in speaking of the end times said, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” Rom. 13:11, 12.
As we look around the world today, the spirit of slumber, insensibility and an indifference to realities is growing among those who claim the name of Jesus. This week we aim to look at the antidote to these problems as we stand on the brink of the eternal word. In order to get the most out of our devotional this week, we must be sober, wide awake, earnest, and diligent. Watching with prayer and fixing our eyes on Jesus, is the other two requirements for a total change in our walk with the Lord and an eternal home with Him when He comes, (Isaiah 45:22).AMEN, AMEN.
