THE PROBLEMS OF LIFE

Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.
Garden Ministry’s purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.

This is the 117th letter:

Text for the day: 2 Timothy 2:15 (King James Version)

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Our Theme for the day: THE PROBLEMS OF LIFE

Our Devotional

The danger of smoking, drinking and driving, the need of better health care, low cost housing, and better prices for food. These are some of the problems facing the world today, coupled with education and social security. Life is complicated, and it can be hard to fit all of the pieces together or is it? To every ten marriages today about six will end up in the divorce court. The number one reason for divorce is adultery which is unfaithfulness, and the number two is money. The number three reason for divorce is addiction, and the number four is risk taking and the list can go on.  I remember reading about a man not so long ago who had problems with his marriage. He was married for twenty years and not performing the duties of a husband to his wife. No matter how hard his wife tried he was not drawn to her. She found out later that he had a love for the same sex.

All of this could have been avoided if he had come out and sort help for his child-hood molestation by a man. The Apostle Paul reminds us that we ought to, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, and rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) The Bible is the instruction manual from God for every problem or issue. But the big problem with this is that very few people read their Bible today. If you where to go to most churches now days you will see that there is neither no need for the people to bring there Bible to church for it is open for them on the big screen. Most people could not even tell you which part of the Bible Nahum is in and or which book it fellow’s. We have come to the place in history where very few people even study there Bibles. Some may read it, but they don’t take time to study it.

This is the major cause to the problems of life. If you are longing to be a successful couple in marriage this year, learn how to discuss your differences in ways that actually strengthen your relationship and improve intimacy. Learn how to contain your disagreements, this means what ever is turning you off, keep them from spilling over and contaminating your relationship. This could be hard to do, but it’s a must. While it's true that we don't get married to handle conflict, if a couple doesn't know how or learn how to fight or disagree successfully, they won't be able to do all the other things they got married to do. Take time out as a couple to be around older couples who are Christians, and learn from them how to be a Christian to your spouse. Finally, set aside time mornings and evenings for worship and prayer with your own spouse. If you follow these simple steps today you will help solve one of life’s problems.
