Our Devotional
The New Year is already seven days old and finally all the graffiti from the celebrations has been cleaned up and the music packed away. The merchant are still counting their profits and or loses as they look for a better year.
With the commencement of a few days into the New Year, Jude reminds us that God is still able to keep that which has been committed to Him. He says, “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” To the faithful servant leader of God, you have nothing to fear this year unless you forget the way God led you last year. If you want to be blessed and become a blessing to others, then you must be willing to obey God’s voice. Then, and only then shall you be blessed and a peculiar treasure above all people on the earth by the Lord.
The song writer wrote, O to be kept by Jesus, kept by his power divine.
In other words Jude is telling you and I, that we can trust God with our lives this year. Soul, body, and spirit, to do his will and be kept by His power. Let’s begin this New Year to the glory of God. Pray to him, morning, noon, and night, to give you a meek and humble spirit, a mild temper, an affectionate disposition. Live as you never lived before.
Finally, let your thoughts dwell upon things of earth less, and upon heaven more, and watch how quickly things will change.
