This is the 59th letter:
Text for the day: Proverbs 25:28
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
Our Theme for the day: the evil eye of Gossip
(Picking up the broken pieces)
In the use of human language there is perhaps no error that young and old are more ready to pass over lightly in themselves then hasty, impatient speech. Many today think it a sufficient excuse to plead when they speak in haste, "I was off my guard, and did not really mean what I said." But God's Word does not treat speaking in haste or gossip lightly. The scripture says: "Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him." Proverbs 29:20 Through the Bible we see that there are many evil traits that are in the heart of mankind, such as Pride, ambition, deceit, hatred, selfishness, and the list can go on. But it also encourages us to seek cleansing of the heart from God through Jesus Christ. With many Christians, these evil traits are partially subdued, but not thoroughly uprooted from the heart.
Under favorable circumstances they spring up anew, and ripen into rebellion against God. Here lies a terrible danger. To spare any sin is to cherish a foe that only awaits an unguarded moment to cause our ruin. Servant leaders are not excused for this point, they should see that their own hearts are sanctified through the truth, and then labor to secure these results for those of whom they labour for. It is pure religion that we all need today. Those who put away iniquity from their hearts, and stretch out their hands in earnest supplication unto God will have that help which he alone can give them. A ransom has been paid for the souls of men that they may have an opportunity to escape from sin, and obtain pardon, purity, and finally Heaven.
Today is the day of which God is calling us to bring our speech under the controlling power of the Holy Spirit. Satan will, if possible, keep the tongue active in his service. Of ourselves we cannot control this unruly member of our body. Divine grace is our only hope. Peter exhorts the believers: "Be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another; love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous; not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile; let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

As servant leaders we are called not to slander our brothers or sisters, but to help them. On the other hand we are also admonished to not trust a neighbour or brother because the heart of all man is not fixed on Jesus. (Jeremiah 9:4-9)
| Tomorrow please join us as we shall look at the subject Hot Potato in our series, “The evil eye of Gossip”. We are into our fourteenth week since starting Garden Ministry; it is growing with new people asking to subscribe to it each day. If you are gaining spiritual muscle mass, and strength through Garden Ministry, and would like to help some-one else gain Spiritual muscle mass and strength also. Then send Garden Ministry your Testimony at, http://gardenministry.blogspot.com. Every Monday of the seventh week, Garden Ministry would share your Testimony with our faithful viewers and readers. So let us look to the next seventh week and ask ourselves, which letter or message from Garden Ministry helped me to hold on to my faith, or helped someone Else? Look up and push on in the name of Jesus.
Our Prayer for today:
Please join us as we pray for purity of heart and nobleness of character in all servant leaders, that the revelation of God may be revealed in purity and nobility of action and speech.
Remember, you’re the only Jesus some will ever see.
If you are blessed by these “uplifting gems”, share them.
