This is the 142nd letter:
Text for the day: 1 Peter 3:8
Finally, all of you have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
Our Theme for the day: THE CALL TO SELF – CONTROL (Part 2)
Our Devotional
Life is filled with struggles; at times they can be very hard. But there is no trial in life with-out its reward. Each small victory is a testament to the power of God. Apart from Jesus Christ there is no true victory, only temporary victory. The countless stories of race and gender are nothing more than a delusion in light of the real battle of the ages. Some may be surprised, but the Bible does not teach that there will be peace, equal rights, and justice in this world. In this life it doesn’t matter how much money you have, to some, they will still not be able to live in certain places in the world. It doesn’t matter how much education one acquire, to some, they will still be looked at as inferior. To others it doesn’t matter how long you have worked at a job holding things together, and all know you are next in line for that promotion, when the time is right in most cases you are looked down on. It doesn’t matter if you are doing the job; the world is looking for that paper.
In talking to a lady one day about this point, she said that her job was looking for a manager, when the new person came she had to step down from her role as a manager because she did not have the qualifications. In time in order for the new manager to succeed she was asked by the C.E.O if she could help them. When she told them that when she was in that position there was no problem for a year and six months, and now we are faced with more problems in six weeks. As the C.E.O looked at the lady, “he said,” I know, that is why I’m asking you to help. Being qualified for something is not a guarantee for success. Each small victory is a testament to the power of God. Apart from Jesus Christ there is no true victory, only temporary victory. The house of faith or the true church of God, are a people where not just self control is encouraged, but where unity is also fostered. God’s church is a place where all men are valued upon the gifts they possess from the spirit of God in them.
The Bible says in;
(Philippians 2:2) Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
(1 Peter 3:8) Finally, all of you have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
(Philippians 1:27) Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,
(2 Corinthians 13:11) Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
(1 Corinthians 1:10) I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
Finally, the war of race and gender will continue to be waged, because of blind and selfish circumstances, from a heart out of control. But for the church of God, unity will be seen more and more, until the perfect day. Today God is calling us as servant leaders, to be the salt of the earth, and the light of the world. May God bless you in your high calling in Him today.

Our Prayer for today:
Nothing in my hands I bring, but simply to thy cross I’ll cling.
Prayer Request
From South Africa
Let us pray for linda nxumalo and wife who has been away from their
family for the last three months that they may see them seen.
From the U.S.A
Please pray for Pastor David Steede, his wife
Wanda and two children Summer and David Jr.
They were in a serious car accident yesterday morning
around 4 o'clock. They were traveling from
Huntsville (for alumni weekend) to Tennessee.
Pastor Steede fell asleep at the wheel.
The SUV is completely destroyed, but Praise
God they are all alive. Pastor Steede said that the
greatest sound he has ever heard was that of his entire
family crying because it meant they were all alive.
The car was standing on the flip side, wife pinned in and
Pastor Steede in the air locked in by the seat belt.
Pastor Steede broke his left arm, the children have minor
bombs and bruises but the wife is in critical condition.
She broke both legs in four places, has internal damage,
broke her hip bone and has skin damage.
The children are in great condition,
Pastor Steede is in the hospital room.
It is nothing short of a miracle.
Please continue to pray that God will...
1)comfort the entire family
2)heal and restore Sis Wanda Steede (wife)
3)comfort Pastor Steede's mom and sister who are in England
4)bless the elders of Pastor Steede's church especially the Head Elder
5)Bless the entire church also.
A person who loves the Bible will also love to pray, and a person who loves to pray will delight
themselves in the Bible.
