ANGELS WATCHING OVER ME (Part 2)

Some people do not believe in the work of good angels but it is true, they do watch over you and come to your help at times.  A close friend of my wife and I who we call Ma Trott told us a story about an angel back in 1992. She said one day in the 1950’s her father who was studying to be a pastor at West Indies College, now Northern Caribbean University was on his summer break. In those days most students did not have money to play with as they do now days, so they worked to help their parents pay their school fees. She said he decided to sell books from house to house, known as Colporteur work or Literature Ministry. One day he filled his bags with books to sell and put them on his donkey to carry. The Temperature was so hot that day, but he needed to sell more books. So he put twice as many books in his bags on the donkey.

As he took off all was well at first. But after an hour or so he made his way up a high mountain where things took a turn. About half-way up the mountain his donkey just stopped, it could not go any more, with one final step the donkey fell. It was then that a tall man came walking fast up the mountain and stood over the donkey and picked him up with the books on it’s back, and kept on walking up the mountain. After the donkey was sure on its footing he just continued up the mountain and worked all day. He said if ever I saw an angel, today God blessed me to see one. Ma Trott went on to say her father in his early days learned about the work of good and evil angels. Which helped him to know the work of a good angel verses an evil angel. The Bible reminds us, “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2

We entertain angels not just in hospitality as the privilege granted to Abraham and Lot in Geneses chapter 18 and 19. We can entertain angels by showing hospitality to God's children we meet; we too, may receive His angels into our dwellings. As we go from place to place through out the day, angels in human form may enter the homes of mankind and are entertained by them. Angels may even help you if there is a need. Christians who live in the light of God's countenance are always accompanied by unseen angels, and these holy beings leave behind them a blessing in our homes, or in the places we go. On the other hand if we choose not to be covered by the power of God and live wickedly, than evil angels will attend us were we go and cause us to be inhospitable and leave their unholy spirit behind as we go from place to place.

Note, "A lover of hospitality" is among the specifications given by the Holy Spirit as marking one who is to bear responsibility in the church. And to the whole church is given the injunction: "Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." 1 Peter 4:9-10 {AH 445.4}

It is important that every father and mother work for their own household. God is longing for the converting power of Himself to be seen in every family. The Lord does not want you, or I to let Satan plant his hellish banner in our families or even His Church. It is time for every father and mother to take their place in educating their children on heavenly things. You can not afford to leave it to others to do this work for you; it is the parents God given duty. Teach your children concerning the way the Lord guides, comforts, and protects His Children. Teach them also that God wants them to do justice and judgment and walk humbly with the God. Today let us purpose in our heart to teach our families about the work of the heavenly angels that guard and watch over the righteous.
