"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the orphans and widows in their trouble or affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."
Our Theme for the day: You’re religion speaks to your serenity, composure and strength
Peter was an old man in his eighty fourth year, but loved to work in his garden and to help others even if it was his last, he would give to see others happy. One day after setting aside his tithe and offering, and money to buy food for his animals, he looked at what was left from his pension which he lived on and there was not enough to keep him for the month, but Peter trusted in God. He passed away two years later but what a blessing he was too many, a man who walked with God with a desire to help others even if it was his last. Have you ever heard the saying, pure religion brings serenity, serenity brings composure, and composure brings Strength? What is pure religion? Pure and undefiled religion is not a sentiment, but the doing of works of mercy and love. In other words pure religion is one of caring for those who are helpless, lonely, hurting and alone. It involves sacrifice and going beyond "self" to search out the needs in others. This religion is necessary to health and happiness. It enters the polluted soul temple and with a scourge drives out the sinful intruders. Taking the throne, it consecrates all by its presence, illuminating the heart with the bright beams of the Sun of righteousness. It opens the windows of the soul heavenward, letting in the sunshine of God's love. With it comes, serenity and composure and strength. To the person who has pure religion in service their physical, mental, and moral strength will increase, because the atmosphere of heaven as a living, active agency filling the soul. Today let Christ be formed within you, the hope of glory and walk in pure religion.
Our Prayer for today:
Remember, you’re the only Jesus some will ever see.
