Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

Born to Serve

Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.

Garden Ministry's purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.

This is the 12th letter:

Text for the day: John 12:26

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Our Theme for the day: Born to serve

When was the last time you reviewed your high calling in Christ Jesus? Are you still standing on the foundation of Gods mission for you? If not than this message is for you, and if you know of someone who has become side tracked to their high calling this message is for them also, share this with them. In every stage of this earth's history God has had His agencies to carry forward His work, which must be done in His appointed way. We see this through the calling of John the Baptist, the Bible say's he had a special work do. He was born to be a preacher of righteousness, to this only was he appointed the work of preparing the way of the Lord. His wilderness ministry was a most striking one; it was a literal fulfillment of prophecy. There was no school on earth with which he could connect; his learning was obtained away from the cities, in the wilderness. Only God, and the nature which God had created, were to be his study books. God was fitting John for his work of preparing the way of the Lord. His food was simply locusts and wild honey. The customs and practices of men were not to be the education of this man. Worldly engrossment was to act no part in the formation of his character. He was born to serve, and his preparation was important toward the fulfillment of that calling. In these days much is said concerning the nature and importance of "higher education." The true "higher education" is that imparted by Him with whom "is wisdom and strength" (Job 12:13), out of whose mouth "cometh knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6.   In order to understand what is comprehended in the work of education, we need to consider both the nature of man and the purpose of God in creating him. We need to consider also the change in man's condition through the coming in of the knowledge of evil, and God's plan for fulfilling His glorious purpose in the education of the human race.  When Adam came from the Creator's hand, he bore, in his physical, mental, and spiritual nature, a likeness to his Maker. "God created man in His own image" (Genesis 1:27), and it was His purpose that the longer man lived the more fully he should reveal this image--the more fully reflect the glory of the Creator. All his faculties were capable of development; their capacity and vigor were continually to increase. Vast was the scope offered for their exercise, glorious the field opened to their research. The mysteries of the visible universe the "wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge" Job 37:16 invited men's study. Face to face, heart to heart communion with his Maker was his high privilege. Had he remained loyal to God, all this would have been his forever. Throughout eternal ages he would have continued to gain new treasures of knowledge, to discover fresh springs of happiness, and to obtain clearer and yet clearer conceptions of the wisdom, the power, and the love of God. More and more fully would he have fulfilled the object of his creation, more and more fully have reflected the Creator's glory. But sin came and from Adams day to John's, and from John's day to ours mankind has been trying to gain a better knowledge through education of Gods will for them. Like John, God has called you with a purpose; your greatest learning or lessons will not be in the classes of the day, but at the feet of Jesus and in nature, walk in that calling today, ministry is waiting for you.

Our Prayer for today:

Please join us as we pray for a renewal for service of them, who have walked away from their calling in Christ Jesus.
