Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

"I give myself away"

This is the 178th letter:

Text for the day: Acts 1:9-11

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Our Theme for the day:I give myself away

Our Devotional

Sometimes in life God does not allow us to see the big picture. The question was asked, "What sustained the Son of God during His life of toil and sacrifice?" The answer came back, "He saw the results of the travail of His soul and was satisfied. Looking into eternity, He beheld the happiness of those who through His humiliation had received pardon and everlasting life. His ear caught the shout of the redeemed. He heard the ransomed ones singing the song of Moses and the Lamb. Today it is time for you to see as Jesus saw. Look ahead, yes look ahead, and stop looking at your present condition. God is with you.

"Christ came to earth as God in the guise of humanity. He ascended to heaven as the King of saints. His ascension was worthy of His exalted character. He ascended from the Mount of Olives in a cloud of angels, who triumphantly escorted Him to the city of God. Not in His own interest did He go, but as the covenant-making Redeemer of His believing sons and daughters, who are made thus through faith in His name. He went as one mighty in battle, a conqueror, leading captivity captive, amid acclamations of praise and celestial song.” ST, August 16, 1899 par. 4 by E G White

One day thousands and ten thousands of voices shall sing the praise: "Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in." Again the angels at the gates of the Holy City shall cry, "Who is this King of glory?" and again the response will swell triumphantly and upward, "The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory." Today I give myself away, take my life and use me Lord so others can be ready when you come. That we all may sing the celestial song.
