"A Day to Reorganize" (Part 2)

This is the 182nd letter:

Text for the day: Acts 6:6

They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

Our Theme for the day:A Day to Reorganize” (Part 2)

Our Devotional

In the early days of the New Testament Church, brethren sold their possessions, had all things common, and took care of the PHYSICAL needs of their own widows and orphans. In the 6th chapter of Acts, we notice in the first verse, the Grecians complained against the Hebrews, because their widows and orphans were being neglected in the daily ministration of material needs. The disciples said, "It is not reason that we should leave THE WORD OF GOD and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men ... whom we may appoint over this business" (Verses 2-3). Seven men were found and they were appointed over this business -- but what business? Note it in your Bible! The business of waiting on tables -- of feeding, serving, the material needs of the widows and orphans! And why were they appointed?

The Bible says to free up the apostles where that they might devote their time to the preaching of the gospel. But the business of ministering to the physical needs of the people where put on the seven deacons. These men were called by the Holy Spirit because of their commitment, fullness of the spirit of God, and wisdom. They also represented a broad class of the people; so must it be today in all lines of Gods work, committees made up of representatives from all lines of the work. These men were also presented to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. These men where set aside for a Holy work according to their gifts. The CHURCH OF GOD, which is the body of Christ, needs more of the POWER OF GOD -- more of HIS LOVE -- of HIS HOLY SPIRIT, that the work may go forth in the MIGHTY POWER of Jesus name, according to the gifts of her members! As Gods work goes forth in the highways and byways of the earth in these last days, there is also a greater need for intercessory prayer for those who are called to work on the front line of the work.

Hezekiah Walker said it right in his song, “I Need You to Survive” when he said, “I need you, you need me. We're all a part of God's body. Stand with me, agree with me. We're all a part of God's body. It is his will, that every need be supplied. You are important to me, I need you to survive. You are important to me, I need you to survive. I pray for you, you pray for me. I love you, I need you to survive. I won't harm you with words from my mouth. I love you, I need you to survive. It is his will, that every need be supplied. You are important to me, I need you to survive.” It is time to put away our selfish, grasping policies, and stand as true to principle as the needle to the pole. It is also time to put away our sharp dealings which have resulted in losses instead of gains in the moving of Gods church here on earth. Singling out those we love in any line of Gods work and deliberately overlooking others is not the spirit of Christ.

“God means what He says. He calls for a change. The same things are being repeated, the same ideas followed, the same committees appointed. In a small section a king reigns, and all others are secondary, when there are other men who are better able to do the work, because they have not been working on narrow plans.”--Ibid. {5BIO 78.1} God wants every worker in these times to stand shoulder to shoulder. The principles of heaven are to be carried out in every family, in the discipline of every church, in every establishment, in every institution, in every school, and in everything that shall be managed under the blood stain banner of price Immanuel. You have no right to manage or lead, unless you manage in God's order. The question today is, “are you under the control of God, and “do you see your responsibility to Him?” Remember, I need you, you need me. We're all a part of God's body. Stand with me, agree with me. We're all a part of God's body. It is his will, that every need be supplied. Let us propose in our hearts to work together to this end.

"A Day to Reorganize" (Part 1)

This is the 181st letter:

Text for the day: Romans 8:13 (King James Version)

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Our Theme for the day:A Day to Reorganize” (Part 1)

Our Devotional

There is a precious line of truth that runs through the Bible and its call organization. This truth establishes the important question of Church and governmental authority or civil authority. Let me say this subject calls for an open mind, without prejudice, that we may search the Scriptures, whether these things are so! In the working of the church and ministry of the saints, there is a need of the laying of a foundation different from the foundation which has been laid in the past. We have heard much about everything moving in the regular lines. But the day in which we live calls for true organization without hypocrisy. The definition of insanity is said, “to do the same thing the same way.” If this statement is true then we have a lot of work to do, because most people have a problem with change, even if it’s for their good. If you took a poll you would be surprise to know what most people where doing last year this time, they are doing the same thing the same old way this year.

This must stop if we are going to move forward in helping our families, neighbors, and country find Jesus. It is the gold of God and heaven that we should long for a purified and refined life that we may be better ambassadors for him. How long shall God work with us in the line of receiving and accepting His plan for organization? How long shall we do things our own way and long for God to bless our ministry or everyday walk of life? How long!! The Bible teaches that our mind has the ability to produce whatever is put into it.  Like the fertile soil of a farm, our mind is a growing or producing agent.  It grows what we plant or think on.  Jesus taught this in the parable of the sower Matthew 13:3-8, 19-23.

The heart that receives the Word on good ground is a heart that understands.  It is the heart/soul that will produce and will continue to produce.  We have learned that many are called and few are chosen, and that it is a choice to be chosen.  When the Word of God comes to us, we decide what we want to do with it.  If our heart is sincerely ready to understand, growth will begin and we will receive the Word on good ground.  A heart that wants to produce will produce.  The amount that we produce is determined by our commitment to follow God and to give ourselves to His will for our lives rather than our own.

It’s time to consider what type of ground is the Word of God in our life planted on.  The Bible tells us if we lack wisdom we can come to God and ask Him for it and He will give it.  Ask today and begin to produce like never before.  Remember you will produce as much good fruit that you desire.  It’s a choice; it’s never too late to replant, to water, or to grow.

Jeremiah 4:3 says, “Break up the follow ground”   The fallow ground is that which once produced.  Like many gardens that have not been diligently cared for, there are times that we have not been properly caring for the garden of our mind.  Take the initiative and let the Holy Spirit break up your ground. Let the Holy Spirit pull out the weeds in your mind that the word of God may grow richly in you. Seek the Lord and you will produce a full harvest. Finally, in order for God to bless us and our service to others we must be willing to bring everything into His perfect will. The Apostle Paul said, “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Yes, this is the day to reorganize ourselves.

The Preparatory School

This is the 180th letter:

Text for the day: Isaiah 54:13 (King James Version)

And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Our Theme for the day:The Preparatory School

Our Devotional

The school year had just begun, and all the students where walking to their class’s. Just then Pete said to Sam, this is going to be my best school year. Then Sam quickly responded, “What are you going to do to see that this is your best year?” I’m going to put more time in my preparation said Pete. Like Pete we must all make same changes in our day to day out look if we are going to be ready in peace when Jesus comes. I remember reading a statement that want like this, “This world is a training school for the higher school above, the life now is a preparation for the life to come. In other words we have the privilege now, to prepare and be prepared for an entrance into the heavenly courts. Here we are to receive and believe and practice the truth, until we are made ready for a home with the saints in light. Here let it be said that we have done our best in preparing our children and ourselves for Heaven.

Remember, there are those who profess to believe the truth and say they are Christians, but are really corrupted at heart. This is the day of Gods proving, where every folly and sin shall be made manifest. None but the pure and lowly can dwell in His presence. The Bible says, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place?” The answer comes back, “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; that hath not lifted up his or her soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." Psalm 24:3, 4. "Lord, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in Thy holy hill? The answer is resounded, “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. To those that backbiteth not with their tongue; nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoreth them that fear the Lord.” Psalm 15:1-4

To those that swear to their own hurt and change not, they shall not be moved. To those that put not out their money to usury, nor take reward against the innocent, they shall never be moved. To those that do these things shall not just never be moved, but be like mount Zion.

"New Challenges"

This is the 179th letter:

Text for the day: 2 Corinthians 7:1 New International Version

“Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

Our Theme for the day:New Challenges

Our Devotional

Today is a good time to start a new challenge that can both straighten and feed your family. To many, you may not benefit right away from what your about to read, but if you stick to the plan out-lined you and your family will benefit. With health insurance on the rise and food bills not coming down it is time for all to device a plan to straighten and feed their house-holds physically, mentally, and spiritually. Sometimes I ask myself, if my mother and father made it with ten children at home, why is it that so many families today find it so hard with just one or two children to survive? This is not to say that all my mothers’ children have made it in life, but they all know what is right from wrong and their choices have made them what they are today. The answer too many of our problems today, may be found in that we as a nation have forgotten the teaching of our parents and grand-parents and their parents in the way they brought up the family.

We may try many things to combat the new challenges of the ages. But with out preparation and the proper setting aside of something for a rainy day, most families will find themselves at the some place next year this time. These two ingredients, preparation before starting something, and having a savings account for a rainy day will correct over half of our ills of most families. This principal is enforce through scripture, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’? Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.” Luke 14:28-32 (New King James Version)

We are living in a new age, the age of can all you get, and spend all you can. With the spending of money out of control not just by the ordinary person in the street, but also by most governments around the world, it is clear that it want be long till a major break down brings the entire world to its feet. This is the middle of August, and during this time of the year most people with children are busy trying to get them fitted for school at all levels. This preparation takes on new meaning for those who are schooling their children for the first time. To see that your child gets the best out of their schooling here are a few tips. A. Do not neglect to tell your child that their time is important, use it wisely. B. Help your child work out a schedule so they can keep on top of their work. C. Remind them that summer is over and they are like you improving them selves for a better day. Mid August is also a time for getting back into the garden for those who love to garden. To those who prepare early, they will see a fruitful harvest this gardening season. But bare in mind that preparation is only the first step if you are going to be a good gardener, you must learn the art of setting aside something for a rainy day.

To those who learn these two points, they will have plenty in to eat in times of need. Like going to school and beginning the new season of gardening, we may need to put some things off when considering a new challenge. Starting something new may be challenging, but if it is Gods will don’t put it off. Today is the best day to start. This is also a good day to start to make perpetration for the second coming of Jesus if you haven’t already started, and or if you are walking with Jesus, to tell one person what the second coming of Jesus means to you.

All of this can never be accomplished until we also learn the art of setting aside time to know God’s will, and his high calling in our life. We are all faced with new challenges every day, but we must ask God to help us to overcome these challenges. There are solemn and important decisions to be made today, and God wants every one of us to stand in a right relationship to Him. He wants us to do a great deal more praying and a great deal less talking. He wants us to keep the windows of our soul opened heaven, that we may have a fruitful walk with Him both now and forever more. Remember it is your preparation and storing up of the promises of God now that will give you a rich reward during the days of spiritual famine before Jesus comes. Why not purify yourself from everything that contaminates your body and spirit today? You can by the power of the Holy Spirit prefect holiness out of reverence for God. Why not except the challenge today?
