Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.
Garden Ministry’s purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.
This is the 127th letter:
Text for the day:
Our Theme for the day: IS THERE A HOLE IN YOUR WALL? (Part 2) (So ready to make excuses)
Our Devotional
Eleven students came running to a class one winter morning only to discover that they had to wait with their teacher outside the class. You see on that winter morning a meeting was called to seek God in worship and have a staff meeting. Not that there was anything wrong with meeting, but a time was set to start and finish. But all in that meeting that day forgot that the room they were in was set aside for a class also. When the class finally stated they were already ten minutes behind with a set time to finish in fifteen minutes. On that cold winter day the teacher stood in front of that class and said to them, just as it is expected for all students to be on time for their class, we as teachers are expected to be on time for our class. As the teacher stood in front of the class that morning and said sorry for not being on time, the student said they accept the apology.
But still there where questions that needed to be answered that morning in the mind of the teacher who was waiting with the students. Like why is it that we are so ready to make excuses for what we do, and why are we so quick to put our youth in their place? There is a saying which goes like this, “Those who love God’s instruction have great peace; they don’t allow circumstances to sway them from following His will. But in order to have this peace they must move self aside, and embrace God’s word and stand on what it says.” On the other hand, why is it that so many people are so easily offended, when you tell them something for their own good? The answer can only be the same, we are not willing to put self aside, and embrace God’s word and stand on what it says. My fellow servant leaders God said through His servant David, “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” (Psalm 119:165)
It is true that some are preaching and teaching down on the law of God, but Gods word remains the same. Jesus speaking to this matter said “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my word shall not pass away. (Matthew 24:35) From the days of old to the present, the knowledge of God's law has been preserved in the earth, and the Sabbath of the fourth commandment has been kept. Though the "man of sin" succeeded in trampling underfoot God's holy day, yet even in the period of his supremacy there were, hidden in secret places, faithful souls who paid it honor. Since the Reformation, there have been some in every generation to maintain its observance. Though often in the midst of reproach and persecution, a constant testimony has been borne to the perpetuity of the law of God and the sacred obligation of the creation Sabbath.
We are living in the time of the fulfillment of the word of God. As the last message to a dying world is been given before the coming of the Lord, the prophet said he saw immediately after Jesus coming in glory to reap the harvest of the earth. Anciently the Lord declared to one who spoke in His name: "The house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me." Nevertheless He said: "Thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear." Ezekiel 3:7; 2:7. To the servant of God at this time is the command addressed: "Lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins."
So far as his opportunities extend, everyone who has received the light of truth is under the same solemn and fearful responsibility as was the prophet of Israel, to whom the word of the Lord came, saying: "Son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at My mouth, and warn them from Me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul." Ezekiel 33:7-9.
Finally, it is only those who are world servers at heart that act from policy rather than principle, and custom rather than truth in religious things. We should choose the right in our worship to God because it is right, and leave consequences with God. To men of principle, faith, and daring, the world is indebted to you, because you are the great reformers. By such men the work of reform for this time must be carried forward. Thus saith the Lord: "Hearken unto Me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. For the moth shall eat them up like a garment and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be forever and my salvation from generation to generation" (Isaiah 51:7, 8). My follow servant leaders today is the day to stop making excuses like those teachers and set a proper example for all I word and percept.
