Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

YOU ARE THE APPLE OF HIS EYE

Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.

Garden Ministry’s purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.

This is the 33rd letter:

Text for the day: Ezekiel 9:9-10

Then said he unto me, the iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not. And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head

Our Theme for the day: YOU ARE THE APPLE OF HIS EYE

This morning I am awaken by the voice of God through his rumbling. I can’t sleep any more, because the servants of God are on my mind. God’s church, His people are the apple of His eye, and He is longing to come for them and take them back to heaven, but they are not ready. The condition of the people are not all pure, some are in the earthly church but are not of the heavenly church. On the other hand, there are others who are longing to be in the church, but are still living outside the earthly and heavenly church. Am I saying that there are two churches, no I am not saying there are two churches there is only one church. The Bible teaches that they who have given their hearts to Jesus are apart of the kingdom of God, and that heavenly church or assembly.

And if you are apart of the heavenly church you will not forsake the earthly church or assembly, but support it. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised ;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:22-25

But there are some today, who are closing the door of heaven to themselves by the course of their own continual backsliding which will lead to their separation from God. There are three things that are leading the people of God from their love for heavenly things, and back to the world or spiritual Egypt. Pride, covetousness, and love of the world, these three are leading many who have their names on the church books to banishment and condemnation.

Do you not hear His voice to you today? He says, “I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:12-17

It is time to put away our grievous and presumptuous sins. Don’t look upon the flourishing of the church as an indication that all is well with its members, this is not a true indicator that there is peace and spiritual prosperity in all her borders. Today light is shining from the word of God and the testimonies to the church. And like those of old who did not listen to the word of God and follow it, there are many being slighted and there is a spirit of disregard for the word of God and the testimonies to the church among the people of God. The result is apparent in the lack of purity and devotion and earnest faith among the people of God. In closing, let us put the question to our own heart. "How have we fallen into this state of spiritual feebleness and dissension? Have we not brought upon ourselves the frown of God because our actions do not correspond with our faith? Are you seeking the friendship and applause of the world, rather than the presence of Christ and a deeper knowledge of his will?"

Today we must examine our own hearts, judge our own course. Consider the associates we are choosing. Do you seek the company of the wise, or are you willing to choose worldly associates, companions who fear not God, and obey not the gospel? Let us be noble, generous, and offer sympathy for every line of the work carried on in the great harvest field. Let us be interested in everything that concerns the human brotherhood. Remember, through your commitment to Christ you are bound in covenant relation with God to make His church on earth a place where the rays of the heavenly kingdom and church are seen. This can only be done through a persevering, self-denying, self-sacrificing effort. God has placed upon every believer the responsibility of helping or rescuing the needy, the helpless, and the oppressed. We are called to enlighten the ignorance, break every yoke, and let the oppressed go free from the power of vicious habits and sinful practices. Will you walk in your calling today? If not you, who? If not now, when?

In the words of the song, We Know Not the Hour by Franklin E. Belden 1886; “We know not the hour of the Master’s appearing, Yet signs all foretell that the moment is nearing When He shall return—’tis a promise most cheering— But we know not the hour. (Refrain): He will come, let us watch and be ready; He will come, hallelujah! hallelujah! He will come in the clouds of His Father’s bright glory— but we know not the hour. There’s light for the wise who are seeking salvation, there’s truth in the Book of divine revelation— Each prophecy points to the great consummation— But we know not the hour. (Refrain): He will come, let us watch and be ready; He will come, hallelujah! hallelujah! He will come in the clouds of His Father’s bright glory— but we know not the hour. We’ll watch and we’ll pray, with our lamps trimmed and burning, We’ll work and we’ll wait till the Master’s returning, We’ll sing and rejoice, every omen discerning— But we know not the hour. (Refrain): He will come, let us watch and be ready; He will come, hallelujah! hallelujah! He will come in the clouds of His Father’s bright glory— but we know not the hour.”
