Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

Time may change, but principles remain the same

Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.

Garden Ministry’s purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.

This is the 25th letter:

Text for the day: 1 Corinthians 4:3-4

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Our Theme for the day: Time may change, but principles remain the same

Educators say that there are five principles of education. What is Education, What are the types of education, what is the main aim of education, what are the responsibilities of teachers and what are the benefits of education? Time may change but the principles of education remain the same. But what is the main aim of education, or the essence of education? The main aim or essence of education is the concentration of the mind and not the collection of facts. What is the end result of education? The end result of education is character bodying. Education without character is useless. Here is a definition of character by a western journalist: “1) an honest person, 2) a person with a sense of duties and responsibilities whatever they may be. 3) A person who tells the truth, 4) a person who offers to others their due. 5) A person who is considerate or helps the weak. 6) A person who has principles and stands by them. 7) A person who is not too elated by good fortune, and not too depressed by bad. 8) A person who is loyal. 9) A person who can be trusted”. (Author unknown)

Our character which is really who we are, is reflected by our words, behaviour, and conduct in our daily lives. Character is a reflection of our true inner being. Life in general is subject to change. But truth, on the other hand, does not change with time. Truth is a principle that does not operate on the changing sands of time, but on the solid foundation of the kingdom of God. A person may change a number of shirts, but the person remains the same. So it is with God and His word, He never changes. He (that is God), speaking of Him-self says, “I am the Lord I change not” Malachi 3:6. We can praise God that He is a never changing God. He loves us and is longing for our good, and salvation. It is precisely because He does not change that His eternal purpose toward His people will stand. He may punish, discipline, and correct, but all of this is for the purpose of bringing repentance and salvation to all, or who so ever will.

The work of God in the earth presents, from age to age, a striking similarity in every great reformation or religious movement. The principles of God's dealing with men are ever the same. The important movements of the present have their parallel in those of the past, and the experience of the church in former ages has lessons of great value for our own time”. No truth is more clearly taught in the Bible than that God by His Holy Spirit especially directs His servants on earth in the great movements for the carrying forward of the work of salvation.

Men are instruments in the hand of God, employed by Him to accomplish His purposes of grace and mercy. Each has his part to act; to each is granted a measure of light, adapted to the necessities of his time and sufficient to enable him to perform the work which God has given him to do. But no man, however honored of Heaven, has ever attained to a full understanding of the great plan of redemption, or even to a perfect appreciation of the divine purpose in the work for his own time. Men do not fully understand what God would accomplish by the work which He gives them to do; they do not comprehend, in all its bearings, the message which they utter in His name.

"Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?" Job 11:7; "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8, 9; "I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done." Isaiah 46:9, 10; Finally, Edward who was longing to get fit joined a gym. The new body builder was on his first day at the gym when his teacher said to him; don't confuse ambition with workout time. It's not how much time you put into the gym which will build muscle, but the quality of the time. The teacher went on to say, one truth that will never change for gaining muscle mass is that, rows will always remain at the top of any successful bodybuilders list. This is one of the most basic but overlooked principles in gaining muscle mass. What type of spiritual muscle mass have you gained this week? Or better still, as a servant of God unto His people how much muscle mass have you helped someone to gain?

It has been been four weeks, since Garden Ministry got started and it is growing with new people asking to subscribe to it each day. If you are gaining spiritual muscle mass, and strength through Garden Ministry, and would like to help some-one else gain Spiritual muscle mass and strength also. Then why not send Garden Ministry your Testimony? Ever Monday of the seventh week, Garden Ministry would like to share your Testimony with our faithful viewers and readers. So let us look back over this last month and ask ourselves, which letter or message from Garden Ministry helped you to hold on to your faith, look up and push on in the name of Jesus? This week-end let us find someway of which we can unite our communities, and look to be prepared for further service in the Lord. Don’t Give Up. Look Up!

Our Prayer for today:

Please join us as we pray for all the servants of the Lord today. That they may have the mind of a student in class, as they sit at the feet of Jesus our heavenly teacher.

Remember, you’re the only Jesus some will ever see.

If you are blessed by these “uplifting gems”, share them.
