The Refiner's fire (Part 1)

Today is a good day to cultivate kindness in our manners of association with those we meet. Let us avoid any abruptness, endeavor to be courteous, and always present the truth in an easy, winning manner. This will bring life to the downcast, resurrection to the spiritually blind and eternal life to both receiver and giver.

“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”

Our Devotional

 

There are times in our life when the daily news paper becomes the unfolding of the life living experience of the prophetic word of God. This can be true, as we look around us at the unexpected and uncertain conditions of the world today. In spite of all this we still have hope.

 

Hope in childhood and youth, where the minds of our future leaders are looked upon as prized procession, looking to us to prepare them for their place in our nation. In spite of the bad news that is taken up over 70% of the talk shows in our land, we still have hope. Hope in the memories of our love one’s who had fought a good fight, finished their course, and are now resting from their labour, waiting the great getting up morning. These are only a few of the many things to hope for today.

But how do you define "hope"? Hope is the root of true emotions, which opens the door to the light of the future. In other words, you can sit in the dark and hope for things to change, but that doesn't mean they will. Or you can sit in the dark and hope for things to change and do something about it through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the true meaning of hope, which is living hope. Living hope leds to expectancy; and once you are filled with the spirit of expectancy. Then and only then does God honor your faith and opens the door of blessings that leads to reality.

 

Are you longing for a turn around in your life today? Are you tired of going through the same old thing every day, every week, every month, and every year? Then you need eternal hope. This hope gives rise to determination to move forward when you feel like standing still. This hope puts your mind on the road for a break through, when you see that all has failed. This hope makes things better at home, on the job, school, and play, in a difficult world. Today is your day to come clean with yourself; you can’t make it with out this hope.

 

Violence can’t win it, money can’t buy it, and sex can’t seduce it. Mothers can’t birth it, man can’t control it, and legislation can’t enforce it. Only Jesus can give it. Paul the apostle put it this way under this guidance of the Holy Spirit.

 

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:6-9

 

“And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them. And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.” Zechariah 10:6-7

My one heart desire today is to be Holy, set apart for you God, and ready to do His will. What is your desire today?
