Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.
Garden Ministry’s purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.

This is the 152nd letter:

Text for the day: 2 Timothy 4:2

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

Our Theme for the day: STAND ON HIS WORD (Part 6) “Polar Bear Religion”

Our Devotional

We all live in a world filled with many difficulties. You name it, and some-one would tell you, they have been there, gone through that, and now they are pressing on. It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you come from there is always a difficulty we all have to over-come. Today we are looking at the difficulty’s that some times come our way as Christians. Mankind has stated that there are five nations in the world with polar bears. They name the U.S.A (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Greenland (Denmark), and Norway. Of these five nations together, some would think that the polar bear population is booming. But it isn’t. In fact according to the latest polls, they say that the polar bears population is endangered. Experts in polar bear science predict that as the Arctic continues to warm due to climate change, two-thirds of the world's polar bears could disappear by 2030.

They also say, do to the rapid loss of sea ice pollution, poaching, and industrial impact, the survival of the polar bear is highly threatened. Like the polar bear, the life of the Christian is also endangered. You may be saying to your self, I didn’t know that. But friends it is true! While the larger part of the Christian church is growing in numbers. The reality is of the matter is that growth is not a sure indicator of the spirituality of the body of Christ. For instants, a church of a membership of three hundred or three thousand people is prized by the pastor of what country or state you live in. But of how much of that congregation be it three hundred or three thousand come out to a weekly Bible study at their church? Or what is the percentage of them that take out one hour of study with a group in their community or neighbourhood?

How many people who call themselves Christian have a set time morning and evening to study the Bible? We live in a time when those who call them by the name of Christian, are not studying the word of God for them selves. Many have been over come by the pollution of a lack of real spiritual foundation to stand on and properly catch the bread of life, because the heat of the love of the world has eaten them up. John reminds us all to, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any men love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1 John 2:15-16. Others have been overcome by spiritual poachers, who draw away the flock through unsound doctrines.

The Apostle Paul in speaking to this problem in the church in his day and ours said, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4.But there is a third class that has been infected by the technological impact. Not that technology is bad, but this class the devil has caused to spend hours looking at needless things and worried about earthly pursuits while neglecting their daily Bible Study.  If there was ever a time that the church needs the word of God it is now. We need to be like those in the early church. The record says, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42

Mark A. Copeland is right when he said, “There is really no excuse for neglecting the Word of God.  In view of its importance, we would be foolish to do so.” In closing, I encourage you to study the bible more. That you may be able to preach the word; be instant in season, and out of season; reproving, rebuking, and finally exhorting God’s people with all long suffering and doctrine. For the next few days we also encourage you to pass these devotional on to ten people so they can also join us in a look at the difficulties of Bible study through the life of the polar bear, may God help us be faithful in our walk with him both now and forever more, in Jesus name Amen.
