Good morning to all our Garden Ministry readers,
I am sorry for the irregular devotionals, but I have been conducting two Bible school pre-week to the public, with other study’s during the day and some into the night.
My only time is early mornings to prepare these devotional.
We still have some way to go with these Bible courses, and you are invited to our Wednesday night class at the Devonshire Church Hall at 7:00 PM to 8:10 PM.
Bring someone with you, truly all are blessed.
Our Thursday night class’s are only for ten weeks, with seven more weeks to go.
They are at the T.N Tetem school in Warwick from 6:00 P.M to about 7:15 P.M. (Some people do say behind with many question) which means I don’t get home until after 8:00 P.M.
Keep us in your prayers as we share the good new of the Kingdom, and thank you for you understanding.

Today’s devotion:
This is the 153rd letter:
Text for the day: Matthew 5:13-16
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Our Theme for the day: STAND ON HIS
WORD (Part 6) “Making a Difference”
Our Devotional
For the pass few days we have been focusing our attention on the importance of personal Bible study. We can all agree our eyes have been opened during this series. There is an old saying I remember, which goes like this. “No matter where you go, people are people.” In other words people are the same wherever you go. But this is not fully true. God has called the Christian to be a light to all in darkness, and salt to the tasteless. Matthew 5:13-16. In other words they are called to be different. As they talk, their words are to be sprinkled with life to the receiver. When they walk, they are to walk by faith and not by sight. The polar bear is different also. Although the polar bear is a part of the bear family, like Christians are a part of the human family, they are still different.
For instant, the polar bear is the biggest of all the bears. The adult males can measure up to 2.5 to 3 meters (8 to 10 feet) tall and can weigh 250 to 770 kilograms (550 to 1,700 pounds). Adult females can measure up to 1.8 to 2.5 meters (6 to 8 feet) tall and weigh 90 to 320 kilograms (200 to 700 pounds). The largest polar bear ever recorded in history was a male weighing 2,209 pounds in the wild. When one considers the polar bears internal and external make up to survive in the coolest climate, where winter temperatures can go down to -45º C or -50º F. This makes it far different then its closest relative the brown bear. With its special insulation of not one but two layers of fur and a layer of blubber that can measure up to 11.5 cm or 4.5 inches thick, it is a special bear. In fact, it is said that the polar bears have more problems with overheating than they do from the cold—especially when they run.
For good walking, the polar bear’s feet are covered with small bumps called papillae to keep them from slipping on ice. Their sense of smell is so powerful that some say, they can detect a seal under ice miles away, and with their powerful claws they can haul anything out of the water up to 40-90 kg, or 150-200 lb for dinner. When man came forth from the hand of his Creator, he was different then the other animals that God had called into existence. He was of lofty stature and in perfect symmetry. “His countenance bore the ruddy tint of health and glowed with the light of life and joy. Adam's height was much greater than that of men who now inhabit the earth. Eve was somewhat less in stature; yet her form was noble, and full of beauty. The sinless pair wore no artificial garments; they were clothed with a covering of light and glory, such as the angels wear.
So long as they lived in obedience to God, this robe of light continued to enshroud them. PP 45 Like the polar bear God is calling for Christians to be different. “The great want of this age is men. Men who are not for sale, men who are honest, sound from center to circumference, true to the heart's core--men who will condemn wrong in a friend or foe, in themselves as well as others. (We need men of the Bible.) The world is in need of men whose consciences are as steady as the needle to the pole. Men who will stand for the right if the heavens totter and the earth reels. Men who will tell the truth, and look the world and the devil right in the eye, and say be gone. The world is in need of men that will neither brag about themselves nor run from duty. Men that neither flag nor flinch when called upon. God is seeking for men, who have courage to go forward in the face of discouragement.
Men in whom the current of everlasting life runs, deep, and strong. Men who do not cry, nor cause their voices to be heard on the streets, but who will not fail or be discouraged till judgment be set in the earth. Today God is looking for Christians to be different. Different in the knowledge of the message, they both share and know. Different in the way that we do ministry and the business said of ministry. Have we forgot that we where called to serve men and not long to be served by them? God is looking for men that will not lie, even if it means losing that promotion, or precision. God is looking for men who are not lazy to work, nor too proud to be poor. God is looking for men who are willing to eat what they have earned, and wear what they have paid for. W.W Breese said God is looking for, “Men whose feet are on the everlasting rock. Men, who are strong with divine strength, wise with the wisdom that cometh from above, and loving with the love of Christ.”
Athol Murray would go on to say about the difference of a Christian over a none-Christian in the wake of duty. God is looking for men, “Who are not ashamed to say “No” with emphasis, God is looking for them. He wants those who can unite together around a common faith, who can join hands in a common task - and who have come to the kingdom for such a time as this. God give us such as them.
Not only will they be better prepared to fulfill their duties as a citizen, they should make a better friend, a better husband, a better father, a better wife, because free people do. They will, in short, be better prepared to live, and when their hour comes, they will know better how to die because free people do.” These are the men wanted by the Lord to help carry on the work of the gospel everywhere. Remember, as long as you remained loyal to God’s divine law, your capacity to know, to enjoy, and to love would continue to increase. As you study the bible with a true heart, you will constantly gain new treasures of knowledge, discovering fresh springs of happiness, and obtaining clearer and yet clearer conceptions of the immeasurable, unfailing love of God. In closing, the words of Tom Brokaw are most appropriate, “It's easy to make a buck. It's a lot tougher to make a difference.” Will you help make a difference in someone’s life today, by giving them Jesus?
