Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

When light comes

This is the 133rd letter:

Text for the day: Luke 8:16 (New International Version)

"No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.”

Our Theme for the day: When light comes

Our Devotional

From a life of darkness to light, is this not what Jesus came to earth for? Today is a new day to make a difference in some ones life, as God through Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit has made a difference in yours. There is a famous Chinese proverb which says, - 'Don't curse the darkness - light a candle. The advice given is "if something is wrong, do something about it rather than complain." This is good advice, after all, who of us hasn't solved the world's problems in finance, with family, or with friends? Instead of asking, "Why don't they do this?" today let us pull up our sleeves and do it ourselves. Today as servant leaders, let us stop cursing the darkness and light a candle.

We all have our frustrations. Many of us who deal with people every day sometimes joke about hating people or put down those who annoy us. Sometimes we have to put up with some petty annoying stupidity, but we must find ways to not let it get to us. One thing that we can all do is take small breaks; they help you deal with you’re problems in a better way. Secondly remind yourself that you are sometimes a problem in some aspect of your life to someone also, you are becoming perfect. We can all point fingers, we all know people who spend way too much time cursing the darkness, hating people and then whining about how unhappy they are with life. I really believe that if we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

These questions may seem trivial, but I think most would agree that it is better to see than not to see. The Bible describes some people who would rather be in darkness than in light. They would rather blindly walk through life, not knowing where they are going or even where they came from. Friend, "God is light and in Him is no darkness at all". Today don’t worry about what length people would go through to prove their point even if they are wrong. People would rather be in darkness than in light. Today the question is, do you live in darkness or light? Or do you love darkness rather than light? 'Don't curse the darkness - light a candle.
