Hello Family and Friends,
Oscar Wilde once said, “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” This quote was stated so all can explore the idea that, in business and charity, there is too much of a focus on the intentions rather than the solutions.

Today, I am taking this
moment to pause, and thank GOD for giving me wisdom and strength to minister
and work with so many great people across Bermuda and the world. Ever since 1996, God has
blessed me to be able to give back for free to areas in Bermuda, and the world. These
past 26 years have been so rewarding that words cannot express the feelings
of my heart. One other great thing I have learned is, my family have not saved
a lot of money in this life, but we have saved a lot of heartaches for many.
With that said, we are a pretty rich family.
Today, I am also
thankful to GOD for so many other people who give freely of their best to encourage
and strengthen our country or another country. This is a great day to give
thanks and celebrate all the wonderful volunteers in our country and the world.
“Everybody can be
great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to
serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You
don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You
only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” By Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.
In a special way, I
thank GOD for the volunteers of the GROW, EAT, AND SAVE GARDENING PROGRAM, AND
THOSE FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH, THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC WORKS, THE DEPARTMENT
OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES, AND THE MINISTER OF HEALTH IN BERMUDA, MRS.
KIM WILSON, who go the extra mile in making a great contribution in sacrificing
time, energy, knowledge, and wisdom to work where they can to strengthen and support
Bermuda.
“You can study
government and politics in school, but the best way to really understand the
process is to volunteer your time.” By Rob McKenna
It was said by Albert
Schweitzer, "Wherever you turn, you can find someone who needs you. Even
if it is a little thing, do something for which there is no pay but the
privilege of doing it. Remember, you don’t live in the world all of your own.”
People have asked
for years, “Chaplain, where do you find the time?” The truth is, I do not
necessarily have the time; I have the heart.
If we are going to
make it in this world, we must move from the spirit of making a living by what we
get, to making a life by what we give.
Lastly, special
thanks going out to my wife and
family, for supporting the vision God has given me to help the people
of Bermuda with others.
Let us all remember,
“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once
a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community
you want to live in.” By Author Unknown
Today let us take a
moment to celebrate all persons who are freely giving of their time, and money weekly,
monthly, quarterly, and yearly to help someone.
It is my prayer that
one day, there would be more people walking the talk, of helping their
community for free for two or more hours a week. If you volunteer in any
area of life, keep up the great work you are doing. Blessings, Blessings,
Blessing.
