Standing Alone with God

And
the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and
proclaimed the name of the Lord. Exodus 34:5
“There
are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than
speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God,
and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labor in
his service. - Charles H. Spurgeon
Yesterday
I tried to send you this message, but for whatever reason it came back to me.
This was that message: “Today Monday
10th, I want back to the dental school hospital to see
if the infection had cleared or if they needed to do any more
work at this point. Note my fight is booked for this
Wednesday but all things must be well for me to travel.
With that said the doctor stated that the
infection in my upper jaw has not fully cleared and had asked me to
canceled my flight home on this Wednesday. He has also rescheduled
me to see him on this Friday morning. God knows best, much prayer.” Oh how truly, I longed to be back on
the ground in Bermuda doing the work the Lord has called me to do, before
coming back to Boston by Gods’ grace, for the final leg of Kevina health care.
I have learned many lessons through this experience.
One of the greatest lessons is “Faith allows things to happen. It is the power that comes from a fearless
heart. And when a fearless heart
believes, miracles happen.” To Moses was revealed the miracle of standing alone
with God as He proclaimed His character. “The Lord descended in the cloud, and
stood with him there, and proclaimed His name. And the Lord passed by before
him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious,
longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving
iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty;
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's
children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. In prayer and solemn
reverence Moses enters the audience chamber of the Most High; bowed his
head toward the earth, and worshipped Him. Exodus 34:5-8
We
should always come before God with holy awe. The angels veil their faces in His
presence. The cherubim and the bright and holy seraphim approach His throne
with solemn reverence. How much more should we, finite, sinful beings, come in
a reverent manner before the Lord, our Maker! Remember, the most universally
awesome experience that mankind are privilege to have, is to stand alone with
God. Yet only few will ever attain. May God grant you this blessing today.
