Good evening Leaders and Prayer Warriors’
Over the last nine days I
have been unable to write to you due to an accident on June 12, 2015 in my
bathroom in Bermuda. When I fell I hit the tub on the left side of my head
which left me knocked out for just over an hour. As I came too, I notice blood
coming from my head. Thank God He helped me make two calls of which one was my
uncle Sidney. After I was seen by the EMT doctors, I was hospitalized for six
days. On Wednesday June 17th, 2015 my brother Sam accompany me to Boston for further treatment.
My diagnoses are as
follows: Maxillary Fracture; Zygomatic Fracture; left orbital fracture. As of
this moment I still have some swelling on the left side of my face. There is an
associated fracture of the lateral wall of the sinus, and also of the lateral
orbital wall. There is a blowout type fracture of the left orbital floor, with
bone and orbital adipose tissue carried inferiorly into the upper aspect of the
left maxillary antrum. Moderate left periorbital soft tissue swelling, with the
left nasal bones fracture.
On Monday at 4:00 pm, I
will undergo surgery with Dr. Freitag (the Number one eye surgeon), and Dr.
Lindsey (a cosmetic plastic surgeon) at Mass. General Hospital in Boston. For
the last two days I have had many tests.
On another note I am asking
prayer and Gods’ covering over our son Jonathan who had injured his left foot
last Tuesday which set him back for a week, but is now walking better, and my nephews
Otis family whose son Neehari lost his fight with cancer last Wednesday at
age twelve. Lastly much prayer is asked for my friend Elder special prayers for
Nolan Smith. He was readmitted to John Hopkins University Hospital last
evening. He is stable and showing good progress this morning. However,
the family solicits your continued prayers.
Let us praise God for the
outcome as I await the operation on Monday. Through it all, God is still good! One
great thing that has come out of this accident is that Kevina has put her problems
behind her and has taken over the care of me with her mother and daughter. Look
at God; He knows how to show off! What a mighty God we serve! To see her
walking around as she helps me is a miracle of the power of God in her life and
all your prayers to Him being answered.
Like David all I can say
today is, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall
continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast
in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with
me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard
me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were
lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard
him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth
round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is
good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his
saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.” Psalm 34:1-9
God has brought us as a
family to a place where we can only say, “I know that I can make it, I know
that I can stand, No matter what may come my way, My life is in your hands. With
Jesus I can take it, With Him I know I can stand, No matter what may come my
way, My life is in your hands.” By KIRK FRANKLIN
Thank you for all your love
and kindness. I must rest now, but I will give a more detail report when I can
after the operation.
Much love to you and yours
You’re Brother
