I call upon you, for you
will answer me. Psalm 17:6
Text for the day:Jesus said, "men ought always to pray, and not to
faint." Luke 18:1
Our Devotional:
Prayer is a complex phenomenon and
there are times in life when God seems not to answer our prayers
involving very important issues such as a death, sickness, accident, struggle,
or painful situation. May God help us as we lay our heart open to him from our heart in prayer,
and not from some paper prayer that is read.
What is prayer? Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a
friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make known to God what we are, but
in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but
brings us up to Him.
At this point I love to thank all of you for your prayers for Kevina
our daughter during her sickness with cancer. Thank you for the way you
have supported my family as we have been force to be in Boston with her. Three
days ago she walked into the apartment in Boston, but will be returning to the
hospital for her treatments. She has a long way to go and with your support and
prayers she shall make it. Through it all my wife has been forced to give up her
job so she can be with Kevina every day, with the hope of going back to work
after Kevina year of treatment. I ask that you remember her in prayer.
If you’re going through some form of trail today, take a page out
of the book of Antonio Monteiro who was falsely imprisoned in Togo for 22
months. “I knew there was no basis for the charges against me and that I was
being treated unjustly. At first, I would always ask, 'Why is this happening to
me?' Then I began to ask, 'What does God want me to learn from this situation?”
When Jesus was upon the earth, He taught His disciples how to
pray. He directed them to present their daily needs before God, and to cast all
their care upon Him. And the assurance He gave them that their petitions should
be heard, is assurance also to us. Take time today, to pray.

Today is a great day to
praise the LORD for the things He is doing around the world through all types
of ministries. Although the work of spreading the gospel in different countries
is moving ahead by human hands, it is not advancing as it should. Yet, that
which has been accomplished affords reason for gratitude and grounds for
encouragement.
