Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

THROUGH IT ALL

One thing I've learned through all the ups and downs is that if you're doing things right, then you have a core group of people. Not just a core group like your homies or your buddies, but a group of people that has a good influence on you, who you respect and admire, and you know that if they're on your side, you're doing something right. By Hope Solo

Text for the day: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

Our Devotional

"PRAISE THE LORD!!!" I made it back to Boston safely. It is about four o'clock in the morning and we are into a few hours of a blizzard condition. Thank God that He put it in my mind to re-book my flight around 1:45 am Monday morning for a 12:09 flight from Bermuda. Note I was due to travel on Tuesday at the same time. According to an update on Sunday, it said that my flight has been change on Tuesday, but I would be able to travel at a later time on the same day. But note the airport closed all its doors at 7:00 pm Monday night, which means there will be no air-traffic today Tuesday into Wednesday. It is clear to me that the Lord wanted me to be here before this blizzard came to help Kevina as the doctor had asked.
Kevina was so happy to see me that she didn't know what to do. She is such a beautiful person. Needless to say about Karon and Karis, they are over joyed. As I looked at Kevina, all I can see is the power of God. What a sweet spirit through all of the things she has gone through. I am seeking your prayers over the next few days that we may see a strong improvement in Kevina’s health with a reduction of medications.
At this time in the morning, everyone is sleeping as I am up with the Lord in prayer and study. Outside the snowfall rate looks around 2 to 4 inches an hour. Pray that all the people will be safe and follow the orders of the law about this blizzard. They are expecting this blizzard condition to linger into Wednesday; the worst of the storm will be into Tuesday afternoon. They are expecting heavy snow and strong winds will result in White-out/blizzard conditions with near zero visibility. With this in mind, everyone is asked to stay in their homes. Travel will be impossible and life threatening across the entire region. They have put into effect a no travel law on the streets and highways as of 12:00 am and if anyone is on the roads they will be brought before the courts.
They are expecting worst condition this afternoon. Pray for the people of the east-cost of America. Through it all, I gather strength from the words of Edward Young, “Affliction is a good man's shining time.” Our work here is soon to close, and every man will receive his reward according to his own labor. As of this day, Kevina has endured so much in her hard times with different sicknesses over the past 12 years, but this is the worst. We as a family have stood by her and weathered the storms with her and soon will say as Jesus comes, “heaven is cheap enough.”
The coming of Christ is near and hasteth greatly. This is the time to do our best for the Master in laboring to help somebody that is ready to perish. Today we need the converting power of God to take hold of us, that we may understand the needs of a perishing world. The time in which we live calls for all to trim their lamps, and let the light of truth shine froth to all we meet. Today there is a spirit of harshness that is governing men. But let us pray for the presence of the Holy Spirit, that our hearts may be softened and that we may not bring a harsh spirit into our work from this day forward. It is time to stop doing the devils work, and let us act like the children of God who are looking to Him for counsel, ready to work out His plans wherever presented. Remember the words of our Lord, “Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Rev. 22:12.

Today is a great day to praise the LORD for the things He is doing around the world through all types of ministries. Although the work of spreading the gospel in different countries is moving ahead by human hands, it is not advancing as it should. Yet, that which has been accomplished affords reason for gratitude and grounds for encouragement.

Garden ministries propose is to aid in the great work of finishing the work of God in this generation. The Art of Prayer

I call upon you, for you will answer me. Psalm 17:6

Text for the day:Jesus said, "men ought always to pray, and not to faint." Luke 18:1

Our Devotional:
Prayer is a complex phenomenon and there are times in life when God seems not to answer our prayers involving very important issues such as a death, sickness, accident, struggle, or painful situation. May God help us as we lay our heart open to him from our heart in prayer, and not from some paper prayer that is read.
What is prayer? Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make known to God what we are, but in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but brings us up to Him.
At this point I love to thank all of you for your prayers for Kevina our daughter during her sickness with cancer. Thank you for the way you have supported my family as we have been force to be in Boston with her. Three days ago she walked into the apartment in Boston, but will be returning to the hospital for her treatments. She has a long way to go and with your support and prayers she shall make it. Through it all my wife has been forced to give up her job so she can be with Kevina every day, with the hope of going back to work after Kevina year of treatment. I ask that you remember her in prayer.
If you’re going through some form of trail today, take a page out of the book of Antonio Monteiro who was falsely imprisoned in Togo for 22 months. “I knew there was no basis for the charges against me and that I was being treated unjustly. At first, I would always ask, 'Why is this happening to me?' Then I began to ask, 'What does God want me to learn from this situation?”
When Jesus was upon the earth, He taught His disciples how to pray. He directed them to present their daily needs before God, and to cast all their care upon Him. And the assurance He gave them that their petitions should be heard, is assurance also to us. Take time today, to pray.

Happy New Year 2015

Good morning All,

Happy New Year to you and your families. My prayer for you is, with the beginning of this new year, may all your goals and needs be filled through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ over the next twelve months. As we look back over the last year we can all say, “had not the Lord been on our side where would we have been.”

Although some people and families have suffered great lost last year, we can still give thanks to the Lord for upholding those persons and families through there trail. As we look ahead, may we seek the will of God in all things.

As for me and my house hold, our prayer this year shall be, “I am Thy servant to do Thy will, and that will is sweeter to me than position or riches or fame, and I choose it above all things on Earth or in Heaven.” ― A. W. Tozer

On behalf of my family, thank you for your continual prayers for Kevina our daughter. On January 1, 2015 she walked to the bathroom by herself without a walker. She is still in the hospital in Boston with a long way to go, but be the will of God she will come through. I am back on the island for a few weeks and Karon will stay with Kevina to help. We seek your prayers for us during this time that we remain faithful to the Lord and His people in all things.

Lastly, the Lord has shown me that He is coming soon. Now learn a lesson from the fig tree; as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, (But what things) (the signs of the times), you know that He is near, even at the very gates.” May we do all in our power to be ready and help others be ready for His return as well.

So, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any men draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” Hebrews 10:35-39

We love you and long to see all of you.
