“Life is a grinding stone, weather it wears me down or polishes me up, it is my choice.”
This is the 289th letter:
Text for the day: Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.”
Our Theme for the day: Second Chance Part 1 (God of a Second Chance)
Our Devotional
To our many readers of Garden Ministry, I want to wish you and
your families Seasons Greetings on behalf of our G.M team and our
families. For the last few weeks we all have seen the blessings of the
Lord, to this we say thank you, One of our team members has gotten
married after he has picked up himself some time now after the death
of his wife, and is now enjoying his new life, to this we say thank you,
Praise the LORD, HALLELUJAH. To others we have seen the hand
of the Lord in bringing our sons and daughters back home to our
families, to this we say thank you. With so many people loosing their jobs, or being put on a shorter
week schedule, today we can still praise God for sending help their way.
It is clear as the song writer said, “No man is an island, no man stands
alone. Each man's joy is joy to me. Each man's grief is my own.
We need one another, so I will defend. Each man as my brother,
Each man as my friend. We don’t know what tomorrow may bring, but thank God he holds the future. Lastly, I am so thankful to be able to sit down again and be able to write a word from the Lord for us all. Today we will start a new series called, “Second Chance”.
When most people look at the biography of Nelson Mandela of South Africa, they see a man that was locked up for over twenty-five years who became President of the country. Little do we talk about why he was locked up! He wasn't a terrorist...he was wrongly convicted and jailed. But God through His providence gave him a second chance to live out his purpose in life.
What about Bill Clinton? Everyone was ready to throw him out of office when he was President of the United States. Why? Because of the Monica Lewinsky thing, and shame he brought on the country and his family. But did they throw him out? They didn't, and he went on to be a rather good President, all because of a second chance.
Second chances are a good thing, even if most people disagree. Second chances are good for everyone. For the next few days we shall unfold the pages of God’s word on this subject. As we look at building up in us a love for the God of a second, third, fourth, and sometimes seventh chance.
In Isaiah 1:18, God is seen inviting men to meet with /him for a free and frank discussion of their many problems. He is not an inconsiderate judge or an arbitrary tyrant, but a kindly father and friend. God goes on in giving a promise to those who have sinned. "Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.”
How many people you know offers comfort and hope to the worst of men? Only God and those who allow Him to dwell in them! It doesn’t matter how guilty you may have been in your past, how-ever deep down you may be right now, it is possible to be restored to purity and holiness. Sin can be eradicated and completely put out of your life, and the life of those you work with. With the help of God the sinner may secure complete mastery over their besetments, 1 John 1:9.
Finally in the words of Hoy Miller, age 60, of Maryland, in the USA. She said, "I thank God for revealing Himself to me, that I may know that He is real. And that I might realize that He is holy and that I was a sinner needing to be saved. I thank him for so many things, but most of all for His love and salvation to me." May someone find comfort and strength to press on through her testimony.
Has God given you a second chance? Then let us know, so we can allow others to be encouraged in their walk in the Lord through your testimony.

Today is a great day to praise the LORD for the things He is doing around the world through all Ministries. Although the work of spreading the gospel in different countries is moving ahead by human hands, it is not advancing as it should advance, yet, that which has been accomplished affords reason for gratitude and grounds for encouragement. To add to this great work of finishing the work of God is this ministry (Garden Ministry). We need your help; more and more people are seeking for Garden Ministry to be translated into their language. If you would like to translate this devotional and send it off to your friends in different parts of the world, please do so. You have our blessing.
