A BETTER DAY

Blessed are those whose
way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who
keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no
wrong, but walk in his ways! You have commanded your precepts to be kept
diligently. Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! ... Psalm
119:1-176 ESV
Today like never before,
the gospel is going throughout the world with the rapid speed. This is one of
the clearest indications that Christ is coming soon. “Consider the impact of
Jesus teaching in the first century and compare that to what he predicted will
happen at the end of time. In the 21st-century our world has become a “global
village.” The gospel is now going to all the world with a speed that would have
left the apostle Paul amazed. Sophisticated satellite communication systems
such as the Internet, satellite technology, interlinking computers, the World
Wide Web, and mass media television, and radio communications are in reality a
gift that God is using to communicate the gospel with incredible speed to the
world. The technological revolution has provided a setting to rapidly spread
the gospel.”
We also saw that John
the revelator saw the History of God's People—“John was strengthened to live in
the presence of his glorified Lord. Then before his wondering vision
were opened the glories of heaven. He was permitted to see the throne of
God and, looking beyond the conflicts of earth, to behold the white-robed
throng of the redeemed. He heard the music of the heavenly angels and the triumphant
songs of those who had overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their
testimony. In the revelation given to him there was unfolded scene after scene
of thrilling interest in the experience of the people of God, and the history
of the church foretold to the very close of time. In figures and symbols,
subjects of vast importance were presented to John, which he was to record,
that the people of God living in his age and in future ages might have an
intelligent understanding of the perils and conflicts before them.”
“Lastly, as we reflect on
the Prophecy of events just before the coming of Jesus. Let us gather hope from
the Word of God that will reassure us unto that perfect day. As we prepare
remember, in order for us to be over comers, “we must have a knowledge of
the Scriptures in studying Prophecy. That only by this understanding we may
trace down the lines of prophecy and ... see that the day is approaching, so
that with increased zeal and effort we may exhort one another to faithfulness,
and not give up our faith. Lose our confidence, or become impatient.”
A prayerful moment: Lord,
give me the power to face today as I look to that better day.
Song of the day: Eleanor Wright - A Better Day (1986)
