I
will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents," He has declared,
"and have mercy on his dwelling places. Jeremiah 30:18.
“There
is no universal rule of balance that says "something equally good must
come to those who suffer enough." However, suffering can always be used to
fuel a better life in the future ... if the person who suffers chooses to use
it for personal development rather than remaining an eternal victim, no matter
how real the oppression.
Other people can control your circumstances to some degree, but not what you
think, who you are to yourself, or what you find valuable in this life. Not if
you don't let them.” By Karen Renee
Before
the church of the Living God is declared victorious over Satan and his evil
angels, they will have to pass through the antitypical Day of Atonement, or
judgment. This time zone is called, “The time of the end.” It is at the ending
of this time that the church will enter into, “The end of Time.” This is the
time Christ’s priestly ministry in the heavenly sanctuary for the sins of His
people ends. Revelation 22:11-15
According
to prophecy, about ten-years before this solemn event began, the antitypical Day
of Atonement, or judgment. A message was heralded to the world in trumpet
tones, announcing that “the hour of His judgment is come.” Those who carried
that message were a sober and serious minded people. They knew how to pray and
the nearer they came to the end of the prophetic 2300 year period, the more
earnestly and fervently they prayed.
The
message was a loud call to repentance and reformation in preparation for the
judgment and the coming of the Lord. Just before probation closes, there must come
another loud call to repentance. The message of Acts 3:19 will then apply:
“Repent, therefore, and reform your lives, so that the record of your sins may
be canceled, and that there may come seasons of revival from the Lord.”
This
call to earnest prayer and repentance is now due. The time has come for a thorough
reformation to take place in our lives and the church. This reformation will be
accompanied by a revival of the spirit of prayer. “Watch unto prayer” was the
message of Christ to His disciples. What does it mean to watch? It means to be
constantly on guard against a vigilant foe who “walks about, seeking whom he
may devour.” The Christian soldier must not fall asleep at his post. In the Garden
of Gethsemane the disciples kept awake as long as they prayed. The call to
watch and pray is a call to awaken and then to keep awake. Like the disciples
in the garden, unless we “watch and pray,” we shall go to sleep, even in the
hour of crisis.
No
person can be vigilant and on the alert against the wiles of the devil without
being a diligent student of the Scriptures. We are told that the shield of
faith enables us to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, and faith is
dependence on the Word of God. A knowledge of the Scriptures, and especially of
the prophecies, gives us the expectation of the coming of the Lord so that we
are in a watchful attitude. The call is therefore a call to study and pray.
One day, a man had a dream and awoken and told
his family and friends, “I dreamed that the great judgment morning, had dawned
and the trumpets had blown.
I dreamed that all nations had gathered, to judgment before the white thrown.
From the thrown came a bright shining angel, and stood on the land and the sea.
And swore with his hand raised toward heaven, that time was no longer to be.
Oh
the rich man was there but his money had melted and vanished away.
A pauper he stood in the judgment, his debts were too heavy to pay. Now the
great man was there but his greatness, when death came, was left far behind. The
angels that opened all the records, not a trace of his greatness could find.
The
widow was there with the orphans, God heard and remembered their cry.
No sorrow in heaven forever. Oh God wiped all their tears from their eyes. The
gambler was there and the drunkard. And the men that had sold them the drink, with
the people who gave them the license, all together in hell they did sink.
The
moral man came to the judgment, but his self-righteous rags would not do.
The men, who had crucified Jesus, had passed off as moral men too. The soul
that had put off salvation, "Not tonight, I'll get saved by and by. No time
now to think of religion." At last they had found time to die.
And
oh, what a weeping and wailing as the lost they were told of their faith.
They cried for the rocks and the mountains, oh they prayed but their prayers
were too late. They prayed but their prayers were too late.” Song of the Day: The Great Judgment Morning
My
brothers and sisters, it is by giving heed to the sure word of prophecy, which
is God’s great timepiece, that we may “know the time” and be ready for the
greatest event of all ages. The following statement by Jesus is applicable at
the present time: “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning. And
you yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from
the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately.
Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when He comes shall find watching.”
Luke 12:35-37
