Good
day Prayer Warriors, Colleagues and Friends
Many of you have asked about the health of Kevina. Thank you for your prayers over these past
few weeks for her as she is making great progress. She is back in
Boston for her follow ups. We are looking to God for a good report in all areas.
Last Tuesday, my first treatment want well. keep all of us in your prayers.
As to ministry in Boston, we can't believe
it, but ten months have gone by so quickly since my wife and I had started
working with Sister Magg and the people from Cape Verde and other countries there. We had a good
time with them last Wednesday May 25th, 2016. One person
has come back to Jesus and was baptized because of this neighborhood ministry. I am asking of you
to keep Sister Margg, and her family with Sister Gomes in your prayers. They
have been doing a good job in holding down the work with their gifts in my
absence.
Praise God there was over 32 people studying with us in this unconventional way of ministry. On Sunday's the numbers could go up to
anywhere from 50 to 75 people that come out to be blessed through the gospel in
a practical way. Keep this ministry in your prayers.
This past weekend, the Way Mark SDA church
called on me to be the speaker for their morning service at 11;00 am. I was called back in the afternoon at
5:30 pm to give a seminar on youth evangelism. Let us keep this church, with the other churches in the area in our
prayers as they are making plans with "It
Is Written" for some upcoming meetings. Let us also keep all churches around the world in our prayers.
Note, I
have included some pictures of last Wednesday’s service.
This is Sister Gomes and I as she is giving the first part of the study in the language of Cape Verdean Creole.

Everyone raising their to the appeal to except Jesus in their hearts.

As the service cane to a close, we take time to feed the people.
Devotional of the Day:
Striving For Perfection In
All Thing!
Be
ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:48
Have you not notice these day how
almost everyone is talking about doing things better, or in other words
tying to perfect themselves. So how does one become better at what they do?
Just for a moment, consider these three points. 1. Do not constantly
spend your time complaining about your problems of which you may be
having or may be up against. 2. Focus your time toward correcting
your problem. This may call on you forgiving someone or even yourself for
the mess you're in. 3. Always remember, Time is value! Stop sitting
around and doing nothing, get involved. Get up! Put on a good smile
and run the race set before you, "looking unto Jesus the
author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that
was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at
the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
In order for us to be
perfect, wrong habits must be overcome, right habits must be
formed. Under the discipline of the greatest Teacher the world has ever known,
(Jesus), you can move onward and upward toward perfection. This is God’s
command, and no one should say, I cannot do it. You should say instead,
God requires me to be perfect, and He will give me strength to overcome all
that stands in the way of my perfection. He is the source of all wisdom,
and all power.
First and foremost, always remember
that you where created to be a light bearer, saying to all with
whom you come in contact, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the
sin of the world.” John 1:29
You were created to be
an example of piety, representing God in word, in spirit, in
action. Your actions are to be a copy of the actions of the Saviour who
gave His life for you and others. By this you are showing the
superiority of Gods' principles over the principles of the world. The word
of God says, "Be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on
the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:23, 24
This means that you are to walk like
Jesus walked, and work upon a higher plane of action than do those who are
not living in God through Christ Jesus. You are to bring the ennobling
influence of the gospel into every phase of your life. This can only be
done by a life of self-denial and commitment to Gods' will in your
life. By doing this, your purity and usefulness will become
a source of illumination to others, and they would long to have
you in their presence.
The world has set up a standard to suit the
inclinations of unsanctified hearts, but this is not the standard of those who
love Christ. The Redeemer has chosen you out of the world, and has left
you His sinless life as a standard. He wants you to rise above all
cheapness of word or action.... “Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and
hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation
of Jesus Christ; ...as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all
manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am
holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-17
In order for us all to be as God has called us
to be, perfect, these words are to be believed and practiced. Let us
strive to be superior in wisdom, in knowledge, and in skill to our
fellow men. The Lord desires that you reach the highest round of the
ladder, that you may glorify Him. He has a treasure-house of wisdom from
which you may draw....
You can obtain an experience that brings
holiness, that where the light of truth irradiates
your understanding. A glow of love for the Redeemer clears away the cloud
that has interposed between your soul and God. I declare and decree in
Jesus name, that the will of God, pure, elevated, and sanctified,
will become your will. I declare and decree in Jesus name, that
your countenance will reveal the light of heaven. I declare and
decree in Jesus name, that your body is a fit temple for use of
the Holy Spirit. May Holiness fill your character. May God
find joy in communing with you, and may your soul always
be in harmony with the principles of heaven.
