Today’s Message:

Good morning and welcome to the International Prayer Teleconference.

This is (Day 2) of the Second Week of Speaking to all 50 States in the USA and Beyond.

Our theme this week is, "In Full Commitment"

Yesterday if you were with us God unveiled to all that we are in a world where a war is going on. But this battle will not be won by tanks, bombs, missiles, guns, and knives. This battle will only be won on our knees, faithfulness and a Full Commitment to His service.

The title of our message today is, "A Father’s Love"

Let us pray

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.

 If I you ever travel to India, you must make the Pamban Bridge in Tamil Nadu a sure stop. At the entrance of the bridge you can see a picture of a weeping man holding some human body parts close to his chest. This bridge was built during the British rule in India and it was constructed in such a way that the center portion of the bridge could be lifted with the help of huge wheels, so that ships could easily pass under the bridge. On the bridge, roads and rail tracks are laid for trains and other vehicles to pass, which was opened for traffic in 1914.

During its early days of operation, a middle aged man was appointed to roll the wheels up and down when ships arrived. One day he saw a train slowly approaching, while he was pulling back the bridge after a ship quietly passed beneath. He had to pull back quickly or else there would be a fatal accident and thousands would have died. At that time, his nine year old son was coming with lunch for him. When he saw his father struggling with the wheels, he put the lunch box down and started helping him to roll the wheels to put the bridge back.

Suddenly, his son's finger got caught inside the wheel and he started crying out. At this time if the father tries to save his son, the bridge could not be put back on time. He had no other option but to ignore his son's cry. With all his strength he kept on rolling the wheels to down the bridge. As the wheels rolled on, his son slowly started slipping away into the huge machine. Tears rolled down his father's cheeks, but he ignored his son's cry. If he tried to save him, the train will surely fall into the sea and thousands of people will die.

Slowly the boy's whole body fell into the machine and his father could hear his bones breaking one by one, until with a loud sound, his head cracked. The train with thousands of passengers slowly rolled on the rails, without knowing what had happened there. Though this man performed his duty honestly, he lost his only loving son.

With extreme lamentation, he pulled out his son's body parts from the machine and held it close to his chest and cried bitterly. The British Government later honored that man and in memory of this incident they placed the picture of this weeping man holding his son’s human body parts close to his chest at the entrance of the bridge.” (Taken from the history of India) This true story reminds us of the supreme manifestation of love, God the father has shown in allowing his son to die for the sins of all men.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, "while we were yet sinners," that "Christ died for us." Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. [Romans 5:8-10.]

"In view of his unmerited love and mercy toward us, how can we cherish malice, or even one feeling of unkindness toward our brethren, the purchase of his blood?" The day has come for "us put away all suspicion and hatred, and all feelings of bitterness, even toward our worst enemies, those who seek to do us harm." – {GW92 430.2}

  1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
    That saved a wretch like me!
    I once was lost, but now am found;
    Was blind, but now I see.
  2. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved;
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.
  3. Through many dangers, toils and snares,
    I have already come;
    ’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
    And grace will lead me home.
  4. The Lord has promised good to me,
    His Word my hope secures;
    He will my Shield and Portion be,
    As long as life endures.
  5. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
    And mortal life shall cease,
    I shall possess, within the veil,
    A life of joy and peace.
  6. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
    The sun forbear to shine;
    But God, who called me here below,
    Will be forever mine.
  7. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
    Bright shining as the sun,
    We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
    Than when we’d first begun.
Words by John Newton, the tune Anonymous/Unknown,

"As you look at the condition of the world today, many are filled with self-importance, and esteem themselves above their brethren. Such should let self die;" and "let the carnal mind be crucified. If you have enmity, suspicion, envy, and jealousy in your hearts, you have a work to do. Confess your sins; come into harmony with your brethren. Speak well of them. It is time to throw out no unfavorable hints, no suggestions that will awaken distrust in the minds of others.

If you have love for God, you would love your brother, and your sister. If you have love for God, we would guard the reputation of others as sacredly as you would have them guard yours; love them as you would be loved of Jesus.

Today let us work for the interest of others, instead of seeking to tear them down, that you may build up self on their ruins. Remember that Satan is an accuser of the brethren, and he loves to have you help him. But disappoint him today; do not let him triumph over you by not being fully committed to God. Moments before giving up His spirit, Jesus said, "Father, into your hands I commit My spirit" (Lk. 23:46). He committed Himself to God, who judges righteously (1 Pet. 2:23). May we do the same today.

Song of the Day:
Just for me - Donnie McClurkin

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
