Watch and Pray

This is the 51st letter:

Text for the day: Mark 13:33

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Our Theme for the day:  Watch and Pray

Take ye heed, watch and pray," was the words of our Saviour spoken in reference to the time of the end, and his second coming to take his faithful children home. In Mark 13:33 the first thing we are called to do today is to watch. Watch, lest you should speak hastily, fretfully and impatiently. Watch, lest pride should find a place in your heart. Watch, lest evil passions should overcome you, instead of you overcoming them through Christ Jesus. Today my fellow servant leaders we are called to watch, lest a careless, indifferent spirit comes upon us, and we neglect our duty and become light and trifling, and our influence become a savor of death, rather than life.
Secondly, we are called to pray. Jesus would not have enjoined this upon you, unless there was actual necessity for it. It is well known to him that of yourself you cannot overcome the many temptations of the Enemy, and the many snares laid for your feet. He has not left you alone to do this; but has provided a way that you can obtain help. Therefore he has bid us to pray. We are to pray in the morning, pray at noon, and pray in the evening, and between them all to keep our hearts in tune. Pray with out stopping. There is power in prayer that is sent up from a heart convinced of its own weakness, yet earnestly longing for the strength that comes from God. The earnest, fervent prayer of the upright will be heard and answered. James puts it this way, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (Colossians 4:12)
Finally, to pray aright, is to ask God in faith for the very things you need, not want. Today let us go to our chambers, or in some retired place, and ask the Father for Jesus' sake to help us as servant Leaders. Let us go to God who is strong, and who loves to hear His children pray, and, although you may feel very weak, and find yourself at times overcome by the Enemy, because you have neglected the first command of our Saviour, to watch, yet do not give up the struggle. Make stronger efforts yourself than before. Faint not. Cast yourself at the feet of Jesus, who has been tempted, and knows how to help such as are tempted. Confess your faults, and your weakness to God, and with Him look to overcome or you perish. And as you ask, you must believe that God hears you.
Plead your case before God, through Jesus, until your soul can with confidence rely upon him for strength, and you feel that you are not left to do the work of overcoming alone. Today God waiting to help you and His angels are longing to watch over you. Morning, noon, and at night Daniel prayed to his God, notwithstanding the king's decree, and the fearful den of lions. He was not ashamed, or afraid to pray, but with his windows opened he prayed three times a day. Even at the coat of his life he prayed, and God did not forget his faithful servant when he was cast into the lion's den. The Bible says He closed the mouths of hungry lions, and finally set His servant free. Today God wants to set you free, just ask. Today marks the beginning of a three week vacation for me; we will keep up Garden Ministry during this time but not as often. Keep us in prayer as we pray for you. Don’t forget Monday the fourteenth week of Garden Ministry we will share your testimonies of Garden Ministry, so get them in to TucciGardenMinistry@gmail.com, may God bless each one of you.

Loose lips sink ships

This is the 50th letter:
Text for the day: Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Our Theme for the day:  Loose lips sink ships

Just imagine if a microphone was put in every free room in your church or may be in every restaurant, every doorway, and every stairwell on earth and then we collected all the stories, over a month, and categorized them, I wonder what would these stories be about, wouldn’t you? Probably coming to the top of all stories would be the government systems of the world. Next would be crime and those who keep law. Third on the list would be the leaders of the church. Yes every servant leader would be there on that list. You may laugh at this, but there was actually something done like this a few years back, in a research firm. With so many things needing our help and support, have you ever wonder why people would stop and tell stories about other people anyway? We can exclude malignant gossip because that’s a fairly small category. Most people tell story’s of someone not to harm them, but it does when it gets back to them.
Those who research those who tell stories or gossip about other people have found that they lack motivation and these gossipers are not reliable. You may ask, what is the definition of a talebearer or a gossiper? They are one who officiously tells tales; one who impertinently or maliciously communicates intelligence, scandal, etc., and makes mischief. (Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913)
What does the Lord say about those who are talebearers, even among those that are servant leaders? A gossiper betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret. (Proverbs 11:13 New International Version), The gossip of bad people gets them in trouble; the conversation of good people keeps them out of it. (Proverbs 12:13 The Message), Evil people relish malicious conversation; and the ears of liars itch for dirty gossip. (Proverbs 17:4 The Message), “The spirit of gossip and talebearing is one of Satan's special agencies to sow discord and strife, (in these last days), to separate friends, and to undermine the faith of many in the truthfulness of our positions.” {AH 441.1} The Bible doesn’t stop it goes on to say, “Don’t talk about your neighbors behind their backs— no slander or gossip, please. Don't say to anyone, "I'll get back at you for what you did to me. I'll make you pay for what you did!"  (Proverbs 24:28 The message), (This is not the work of the children of God).
Among the lovers of gossip some are actuated by curiosity, others by jealousy, and many by hatred against those through whom God has spoken to reprove them. All these discordant elements are at work. Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you want junk like that in your belly? (Proverbs 26:22 The message), Proverbs 29:12 says; When a leader listens to malicious gossip, all the workers get infected with evil. That is why we have so many problems with the work force of the church and the world; it may be in part that its leaders are listening to malicious gossip which is causing all the workers to get infected with evil. As Gods last day people you should not allow your love to be turned into lust, setting off a downhill slide into sexual promiscuity, filthy practices, or bullying greed. As Gods last day people we will not allow our tongues to love the taste of gossip, and pull our fellow brothers and sisters down. Those who follow Jesus will have better uses of their language than that. Neither will they allow dirty or silly talk to be found coming out of their mouth. That kind of talk doesn't fit their style. Gossip reveals a lack 0f true godliness of heart; it unfits one both for the society of one who calls themselves a Christians, and secondly for association of angels and God in heaven. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, so guard your tongue.
Finally, when the American GIs during world war two were in port, preparing to board a ship for their next mission, they were constantly reminded to talk to no one about where they were headed. Why? Because there were enemy spies in every port, trying to find out their plans. If they talked, the information heard was used to target that American ship for sinking. If a soldier talked too much, it could literally cost him his life and the lives of his comrades, because loose lips sank ships. These four words may not mean much to you today, but they meant life-or-death for those troops back then. Remember, loose lips still sink ships.

In full commitment

This is letter: 49

Text for the day: 1 Corinthians 15:3- 4

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Our Theme for the day: In full commitment

In the mid 1960’s the world was caught between the fighting of a needless war. To some it was the best way of getting their point across that they are in control, and to others it was there way of saying we are not going to give in. The Viet Nam war which was fought in Vietnam opened the eyes of everyone on earth to see the full evil of war. Some people believed America had no right to put its head in where it wasn’t needed, but others differed, the big question is still sounding and resounding to our day. What does it mean to be my brother’s keeper? Are we not called upon to protect the innocent, whether they are a problem, or not? It is estimated that 2.7 million men from the USA alone served in the military in Vietnam, and 58,000 die. Many served alongside men, who they died for, trying to stay alive. Some were dedicated to keeping the war going at any cause at destroying one another, but a few were dedicated to ending the war and were willing to die for that cause.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. put it right when he said, “If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.” After His resurrection, Christ met with His disciples in Galilee. At the time appointed, about five hundred disciples were assembled on the mountainside. Suddenly Jesus stood among them. No one could tell whence or how He came. Many who were present had never before seen Him; but in His hands and feet they beheld the marks of the crucifixion of were the battle was waged for your sins and mine. His countenance was as the face of God, and when they saw Him they worshiped Him. Jesus came from glory to earth for two main reasons only, to vindicate His fathers name and to bring mankind back in oneness with their maker.

One day soon all the redeemed and those who had a part in helping to bring the message of hope to them will all bow at the feet of Jesus. After sin, sinners, and war has ended we will all cry Holy, Holy, Holy and sing glory to the lamb which was slain, and war, death and the grave will be no more.

Cody Stephen Heldak says it well in summing up her poem on “War is”, said “War is innocent deaths, War is many tears, and war is an unwelcomed guests. And they all last for years.” But on that day it will be over. We are living in a world of war now were good and evil, Christ and Satan is fighting for the control of the mind and there is no getting around it. But the biggest question today is not how many died last night, but who is willing to die to this world and Satan and gain all even eternal life through Christ Jesus today?

Today God is holding the war in check, but how long? Remember what the prophet saw in Revelation 7, "four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree." And that another angel, ascending from the east, cried to them, saying, "Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads." This point’s out the work we now have to do, which is to cry to God for the angels to hold the four winds until missionaries shall be sent to all parts of the world, and shall have proclaimed the warning against those who disobey the law of Jehovah. Will you not serve beside man who if called upon by God would die for you? Today I give you Jesus He died for us all, serve Him in full commitment today.

We are into our tenth week since starting Garden Ministry, and it is growing with new people asking to subscribe to it each day. How is your Heart?

This is the letter: 48

Text for the day: Jeremiah 4:4 (Young's Literal Translation)

Be circumcised to Jehovah, and turn aside the foreskins of your heart.

Our Theme for the day: How is your Heart?

Nicodemus held a high position of trust in the Jewish nation in his day. He was highly educated and possessed talents of no ordinary character, and he was an honored member of the national council. This was a position converted by many. Yet with others, he had been stirred by the teaching of Jesus. Though rich, learned, and honored, he had been strangely attracted by the humble teacher of Nazareth. “He greatly desired an interview with Jesus, but shrank from seeking Him openly. It would be too humiliating for a ruler of the Jews to acknowledge himself in sympathy with a teacher as yet so little known. Should his visit come to the knowledge of the Sanhedrin, it would draw upon him their scorn and denunciation. He resolved upon a secret interview, excusing this on the ground that if he were to go openly, others might follow his example. Learning by special inquiry the Saviour's place of retirement in the Mount of Olives, he waited until the city was hushed in slumber, and then sought Him.” {DA 168.2}

Today many are like Nicodemus: They seek truth but need salvation; they want a teacher but require a Saviour. Too many today, their urgent need is not a theoretical knowledge of the word but a spiritual regeneration of the heart. It is the heart that needs fixing. “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9) I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10) Nicodemus had come to the Lord thinking to enter into a discussion with Him, but Jesus laid bare the foundation principles of truth. Again it is not theoretical knowledge you need said Jesus, but spiritual regeneration. Neither do you need your curiosity satisfied, but to have a new heart. Today there are many cold legal servant leaders who do everything correct like Nicodemus, but never really lead a soul to Jesus.

Today there are many well informed servant leaders, but they have not gone pass the first step of being born again which is to believe. They have not come to the second step which is repentance. Today there are many servant leaders who have forgotten their purpose, which is to make not merely church members, but regenerated creatures through living faith in Christ Jesus. We are not called to make professors of truth only, but people who live by the faith of God and keep His commandments. God has called us to reach the hearts of the hearers, not the emotions have you forgot. Today there are more people than you think that are longing to find the way to Jesus. To you who are called to peach the last message of mercy, exalt Christ as the sinner’s only refuge. Remember the saviour’s words: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32)

Finally, Nicodemus received the lesson, and carried it with him. He searched the Scriptures in a new way, not for the discussion of a theory, but in order to receive life for the soul. He began to see the kingdom of heaven as he submitted himself to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Nicodemus did not for a time publicly acknowledge Jesus at first, but he watched His life, as people are watching your life. He pondered His teachings, as people are pondering your teachings. When Jesus was finally crucified on the cross, Nicodemus remembered the teaching upon Olivet: and saw in Jesus the world's Redeemer. Today there are people looking at you, but the question is what do they see an uplifted Saviour or a hidden Saviour. How is your heart?

Knowledge

This is the letter: 47

Text for the day: 2 Chronicles 1:10

Now give me wisdom and knowledge that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”

Our Theme for the day: Knowledge

Have you ever been so down that the people you seek advice from have nothing good to say but gloom and doom? This is the story of Job in the book of Job. Than Eliphaz and Temanite answered [Job], should a wise man utter such windy knowledge [as we have just heard] and fill himself with the east wind [of withering, parching, and violent accusations]? Should he reason with unprofitable talk or with speeches with which he can do no good? (Job 15:2-3) At a time in history when Job the riches man of His time was seek comfort and hope, because of his lost and sickness. His friends looked to find fault with his walk with God. Job would go on to say, "My words come from my upright heart; my lips utter pure knowledge. (Job 33:3) This is the character of the true servant of God at all times, they have a upright heart, and speak only pure things or pure knowledge ever flows from their lips.

Knowledge, what is its definition? The sum of what is known, (Webster Dictionary). Some say there are four types of knowledge: bookish knowledge, general knowledge, discriminative knowledge, and practical knowledge. But if this is all the servants of God have to give to a world in need of a Saviour it is not enough. Bookish knowledge is superficial. It is temporary and transient. It lasts as long as it is in our head. We fill our heads with bookish knowledge, go to the examination hall, write our answer paper and return empty headed. General knowledge consists of ordinary acumen and intelligence which give you a keen insight or discernment of the subject. A discriminative knowledge, which comes from knowing right from wrong, has in it a call to work from common sense. Both general knowledge and discriminative knowledge are essential for life in this world. In India the washer man goes from house to house collecting clothes. He collects many clothes, but he does not keep any written record.

In the evening, he returns all the clothes to the respective houses. Many educated people could not do this; it is an example of general knowledge. We have it from our birth and it should remain with us all our lives but to many they become sidetracked. And fourthly there is what we call practical knowledge, knowing how to keep it simple. This practical knowledge is changeless. True and eternal education never changes, it opens the heart to recognize the unity of which we are all but a part and, in doing so those who understand aspire for the welfare of all. A fully educated person is one who manifests these qualities, truthfulness, compassion, and one who is reliable, caring, and at oneness with God through Jesus Christ.

In Psalm chapters 14:4 and 53:4, David asks a question that speaks to us living in the twenty first century.
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, which eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD? These workers of iniquity, who have no knowledge, are those who are the seeker of carnal knowledge. These are they which would not learn from the words of their God sent teachers. These are they which refused to respect the LORD. These workers of iniquity reject all advice and pay no attention to God when He warned them. But the day will come when they will eat the fruit of their own doing, and they will be stuffed full with your own schemes. Let us not kid ourselves; sin and self-satisfaction bring destruction and death to stupid fools. But if they listen to the Lord, they will be safe and secure without fear of disaster. (Proverb 1:29-30)

My follow servant leaders, the time will come when God will tell you to fold your hands and stop your service in the place you are called to serve. Because there is nothing more He can do in offering a vehicle of service through you for the salvation of mankind. The word of God says; "Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the LORD, They would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; Proverbs 1:29-32

The Bible does not stop there, but goes on to portrays God as a God of hope, He is always looking for the best in man, and we as His servant leaders should look for the same. In verse 33 of the same chapter it says, "But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.” Today let us not be like Jobs friends, Eliphaz and Temanite who offered no words of hope, but let us be like Jesus who saw the big picture and was ready to offer hope through the knowledge of His word.

The Land of Smiles

This is the 46 letter:

Text for the day: Psalm 50:2 (King James Version)

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Our Theme for the day: (The Land of Smiles)

Renowned documentary photographer Tomas van Houtryve entered North Korea a few months ago by posing as a businessman looking to open a chocolate factory. Despite the 24-hour surveillance by North Korean minders, he took arresting photographs of Pyongyang and its people of which he was not to —images rarely captured and even more rarely distributed in the West. No one knows how many people live in Pyongyang which is the capital of North Korean; some estimates place the population at up to 3 million. He said, “As the children notice him, they immediately ran away from him as if a wolf had come up to them.” In Kaesong, the special economic zone on the southern border, South Korean companies hire North Korean workers at wages of $50 a month.

Tomas Van Houtryve further goes on to say that every where he want he saw no one with a smile on their face; it was like I entered into the land of no smiles. There is a lot of joy in a smile, how sweet our daily comforts prove when they are seasoned with God’s love, and a smile. If you want to be a good leader then smile first. Your first smile will compel every body to smile. It is by a smile that the heart of others is open. It is said that teachers who smile will touch the heart of student through the magnetic touch of smile. Smile creates confidence & love among the children. The smile makes the children fearless and brave in the class to ask every question. With out a question a class is meaningless and helpless and may be termed as poor class. The development of the children on the subjects happens only when they start liking and loving the teacher. ‘Unless the children love the teacher, how can they love the subject? Remember, the smiling face of the teacher creates vibration among the children who become fearless to express everything. They ask questions. ‘Freedom automatically happens when smile exists in the classroom'.” By Harekrushna Behera

Harekrushna Behera further goes on to say, “SMILE SPREADS LOVE, if the classroom is happy then the children can better study through the happy environment and they can enjoy the study.” Like the workers of Kaesong who live on the southern border, who live off the wages of $50 a month. Nothing can do us real good without the blessing of God. For what God blesses is blessed, be it little or much. Therefore "a little that a righteous man hath is better that the riches of many wicked." Ps. 37:16. The little with the blessing of God is more efficient, and it will extend farther. The grace of God will make a little go a great ways. When we devote ourselves to the affairs of the kingdom of God, He will mind our affairs." {OHC 196.2} Our earthly good is not beneath the notice of our heavenly Father. Today God longs to smile upon you and your efforts. Soon we shall enter the land of smiles; John who wrote the book of Revelation puts it this way.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. I am longing to be in this place were people shall smile forever; it will be worth more than any earthly income. But first we must find that true peace which brings happiness and a smile, and than help someone Else find the same before we are ready to go. Like it is that we don’t know how many people live in Pyongyang, neither do we know what the population of the holy city, New Jerusalem is neither. For John in Revelation 7:9 says he saw, “a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.” Today the invitation is extended to all to be there through Jesus, and be apart of the land of smiles. Will you be there?

Taken it to another level

This is the 45th letter: Text for the day: Ecclesiastes 9:10

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Our Theme for the day: Taken it to another level

Peter loved working with his hands and his father knew it, as he grew older his father would say to him it’s time to take it to another level. He worked at many jobs using his hands, through his twenties and thirties very few people worked like peter and he never complained because he loved it. By the time he was in his forty’s he had his own farm, plenty animals and still found time during the evening to do something with his hands. Six days a week you could see him doing something with his hands right up unto his sickness at eighty five years. Peter passed away one year later with one thing on his mind I must take it to another level. God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man named Adam, whom He had formed. Adam would learn lessons of life by working in his new garden home by working with his hands. To Adam and Eve was committed the care of the garden, "to dress it and to keep it." Genesis 2:15. Though rich in all that the Owner of the universe could supply, they were not to be idle. Useful occupation was appointed them as a blessing, to strengthen the body, to expand the mind, and to develop the character.
(Ed 21.2)

As it was in the days of Adam it still is today, useful physical labor is a part of the gospel. Speaking of Paul, the great apostle and educator to the Gentiles, he learned the trade of a tent-maker. But many to this day ask, why did Paul thus connect mechanical labo
r with the preaching of the gospel? Is not the laborer of the gospel worthy of his hire? Why did he not labor all the time in preaching and teaching? One, by working with his hands he longed to be an example in diligence and thoroughness. And two Paul’s testimony was, he was diligent in business, fervent in spirit, and serving the Lord. This was a testimony to the value of the truth he presented. By laboring with his hands Paul was preaching the word. Thus he set an example which spoke against the sentiment then gaining influence, that the preaching of the gospel excused the minister from mechanical and physical labor.

Paul knew that there were many that loved ease and indulgence much better than useful labor. He knew that if ministers neglected physical work, they would become enfeebled. He desired to teach young ministers that by working with their hands,
they would become sturdy; and their muscles and sinews would be strengthened to give proper service. Today if you work at an office and sit all day, it's time to get up and put some manual labor into your day. And if you are a person that serves your community by preaching, or teaching, it's time to get outside and put some manual labor into your day. It is time to take the call to service to another level. For as the people see you laboring with your hands and sharing the gospel, you will be gaining a greater influence in the community. And then Jesus will come.

We are into our ninth week since starting Garden Ministry, and it is growing with new people asking to subscribe to it each day.
