This is the 61st letter:
Text for the day: 2 Corinthians 6:1 (King James Version)
We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain
Our Theme for the day: “The Ride of our lives”
I have always been amazed from the time the buses started running through my neighbourhood that there would be a problem some day if the trash is lifted on the street. And then one day it happened, the bus operators where going to stop picking up passengers in my neighbourhood unless something was done. As the different ministries in government worked on the problem, before long it was agreed that the trashcollector would come into the area a little earlier. As time went on this only offered another problem, the late risers still put their trash out after the trashcollector had already come. There are some great spiritual lessons in this story. Firstly, like the buses which come through my neighbourhood at set times. Did you not know that the Holy Spirit comes by the street of our lives every day at set times to pick us up from sin and discouragement, hopelessness, suffering, and pain, to take us on a ride to Heaven?
Secondly, like the trash that was slowing up the buses from getting to the next passengers on time. Remember you may not like it but sometimes, the trash of your known sin may be the very cause of someone not receiving eternal life, and receiving healing for their need. Thirdly, we all have some sort of trash in our lives that need to be put out on the trash day of our high calling to Jesus, or greater responsibility in Christ Jesus. It’s time to put it out today and on time. The Bible says, “Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, to day if ye will hear his voice”, Hebrews 3:6-8. It doesn’t matter what part of the work of God you are in or may not be in the Lord is calling you. You are called to be His ambassador; you are called to be His co-worker, rejoice in that fact and live it to its fullest. Fourthly, as the different ministries in government are working on the problem in the area were I live, our Heavenly Father with His ministerial team in Heaven and earth are working with mankind to rid them of the trash of sin and self.
So the true operator, Jesus Christ can bring all passengers to dwell with them forever more. In closing, I was reading from a book this morning called (Review and Herald December 26, 1907) and found this quotation. “The Lord's purposes for His people have ever been the same. He desires to bestow on the children of men the riches of an eternal inheritance. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. When those who choose to become obedient subjects of the Most High are finally saved in the kingdom of glory, God's purpose for mankind will have been fulfilled.” Today I am longing that God's purpose for me is fulfilled, are you? As servant leaders today, let us be apart of the team that is looking for ways to clear the trash of sin, and emptiness, hurt, and loneliness, sadness, and uselessness, from our neighbors lives. So the Holy Spirit can pick them up and take then on the ride of their lives, to Heaven.
