"No more Wrangling and Dissension"

This is the 169th letter:

Text for the day: 1 Corinthians 12:25

 (Amplified Bible)

“So that there should be no division or discord or lack of adaptation [of the parts of the body to each other], but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another.”

Our Series: “HE GAVE GIFTS TO HELP US” Part 3

Our Theme for the day: “No more Wrangling and Dissension”

Our Devotional

Can you imagine a team of hockey players going through the season of play overcoming every opponent, and coming to the last game smelling victory, but having not overcome their internal wrangling and dissension among them selves? This is hard to believe, and yet we say what a sad situation. But is this not the picture of the church? Since early times, history has been filled with wrangling and dissension by those who called themselves God’s children. Yet we have also seen through history how those who believed in God trusted Him so much that they would rather take the low road, then cause dissension or wrangling. Why are so many people filled with wrangling or frequent quarrels and dissension in the church? Are these the attributes of the people of the world who have not surrendered their life to Jesus?

Like the church of old, the church of the last days will be filled with it problems, but it is still God’s church, and the apple of His eye. Although it is not God’s will that wrangling and dissension be in the church, His word to you and me is still, “Go forward with the church.” We need to understand that the encouragement of suspicion and unbelief, by many of those who call themselves Christians are still dishonoring to Christ. God desires all His servants to cultivate Christian affection, not hate for one another.

The apostle Paul in speaking to this point in 1Corinthians 12:21-27 said, “And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” (New King James Version)

My fellow brothers and sisters, and my colleagues in ministry God is making His last call to us. The day is coming when all who fail to put away from them this evil wrangling and dissension in the church will stand before God sorry. In that day Jesus will say to you and I, if we have not repented of these sins, depart from me you workers of iniquity, you are not mine. Why would you want to be lost for hanging on to your iniquity? Why! Oh Why! When the Bible tells us that Jesus, “was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

This is a day to come back home to Jesus, and give Him our wrangling and dissension. Would you come today?
