Garden Ministry

Encouraging workers in the field of the Lord.

Choices

Welcome to Garden Ministry, where the soil of the mind is broken up, fertilized, and made ready for the toiling of the Holy Spirit.

Garden Ministry’s purpose is to encourage the workers in the field of the Lord, and to keep them looking up to Jesus.

This is the 34th letter:

Text for the day: 1 Corinthians 4:3-4

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Our Theme for the day: Choices

Just before his death, Joshua called the children of Israel together, and said to them, "Choose you this day whom ye will serve." The choice that Israel was that day called to make is one that today all are called to make; for there are still rival powers in the world. As we look at the daily news we see that people are forced to make choices everyday It could be the smallest choice like what gift will be given to the trash truck helper for his ten years of service, or to the bigger choice of I will be true to my marriage vows until death do us part. Choices, we have to face them every day, and in all types of ways we must face them.

In the book of Joshua chapter 24, the Bible opens for us the experience of a fearless leader. One who was not afraid to stand up, even if he was standing by himself, Joshua did not ask to be a leader, or seek it through dishonest means, like bribery or even assassination. The word of God helps us to see that he was called; he obtained the office of leadership by the most honest means. We are living in a day where we need leaders like Joshua, who are called to the office of leadership verses seeking it through bribery or even assassination. Today most people are following one another, we have very few people who are choosing to stand even if it’s by themselves.

The Lord is seeking for people to take their stand. Some of these called out once will be called into leadership like Joshua. On that day when you take your place in God’s great plan as a leader you must keep these words before you. “Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” We all need to answer as did the people, “God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;” Joshua 24:14-16

Finally, don’t walk around with a chip on your shoulder, always spoiling for a fight. Don't try to be like those who shoulder their way through life. Why be a bully? .................. It's the straightforward who get his respect. In other words, “Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.” (Proverbs 3:31) Today Satan comes with his temptations to the children of men, and here he has better success. One of his most successful devices is to keep men in ignorance of his devices; for they will not be on their guard against an enemy of whose existence they are ignorant. Those who choose Christ as their leader, grow daily more like Him. "Strengthened with all might by His Spirit," they form characters that will win for them an entrance into the holy city. We now have the opportunity of deciding whether we shall be numbered with the servants of Christ or the servants of Satan. Day by day, in every way, in word and act, we show what choice we are making. Shall we not decide as did Joshua, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord?"

We are into our sixth week, since Garden Ministry got started and it is growing with new people asking to subscribe to it each day.
